And if Jesus forgave us of these sins how is it that we keep commiting them.

It like I pardon you from the death penalty and you go out and continue to commit crimes believing that the pardon I gave you continues to pardon all your other crimes.

This question is raised because I keep hearing people say,"Jesus never said anything about this or that". That is religion, not Jesus.

One other thing: There is nothing in scriptures that states our future sins are forgiven. Belivers that believe has to repent of their sin and humble before God. But remember we are spiritual not human. We become human when we serve the flesh (sin) we are dead to sin and dead people cannot sin). To be human is to be carnal minded.

Sin cannot be justified, it has to be repented of. Listen to the scriptures again.

Sin is falling short of perfection, one's being forgiven does not prevent them from from being imperfect. So, while Christians are told in the Bible to strive for perfection, becoming a Christian does not prevent a person from sinning. Jesus forgave our sins, because he knew we couldn't live perfectly. Being a Christian merely means that one has accepted the grace of God. Obviously a person who understands the grace they have been given will be compelled to live obediently, but a Christian still remains a seperate entity from God even after becoming a Christian. Obedience is a choice, even after salvation.

Christians use circular reasoning.

We need Jesus to be forgiven original sin.

We have original sin so we need Jesus so we can be forgiven.

They totally miss the fact that in the Tanakh/Old Testament it says the sins of the fathers are not to be held against the sons beyond the third and fourth generation, which was well passed long before Jesus showed up.

We have nothing we need to be forgiven for by Jesus.

This is a good point.

If Jesus died to forgive all the sins of all the people for all time, there has been no such thing as sin since Jesus' death, right?

Also, if Jesus is a human being, wouldn't his dying be worth no more/no less than anyone else's dying?

Does this mean that my grandfather should have been able to die to make all his grandkids perfect? Does that mean I'm perfect?

Should I die (whenever I do kick the bucket) for the purpose of making all my descendants beautiful? Or rich? What should I bequeath as the benefit to the world for my passing? What about you? What do you want to want to give everyone as a benefit for your having died?

the sins Jesus came to earth to forgive was first the sin of adam. then all the sins of the world committed before He came to earth. they needed to be forgiven because we cannot be in God's presence with sin.

the other part of your question is very good and very interesting. It is our obligation after receiving Jesus as our Saviour that we do not commit those or any sins again, but we are human and that is not likely to happen. we just have to try again with a true heart. that is why Jesus died for ALL our sins. even the future ones.

1. The sins come from the people on earth
2. EVERY sin is against God and in order for God to even look at you, sin will have to be forgiven by Him.
3. The sins that Jesus died for were; past, present and future sins of the world.

We should make it our main course of life to stop sinning!

God Bless You

Like many people that never heard of the holy bible and Jesus Christ I used to travel a lot meeting nice young people such as myself drinking, and having all kinds of fun then one day I started reading the King James Version of the holy bible and discovered that almost everything that I had done was sinful in one way or another and asked Jesus Christ , whom I had recently heard of, to forgive me of all these sins but there is always evil trying to cause the weak ones trouble. Sometimes the best of us fall short and must pray for strength and understanding.
