Why do JW"s claim to be the only followers of Jesus command, to preach the good news of the kingdom? Why do they claim to follow Jesus's example when they do a poor imitation of what he did? Jesus had nothing..lived by the grace of others and traveled from village to village.....I don't see JW's doing that.

im a christian, but when i started reading the bible... most of it i didn't like at all. it just seems that man made it (women barely have anything to say or do) and they kill animals for sacrifices, God who is supposedly loving and forgiving to all, he wipes out cities because they are so sinful and all that....

and what's weirder is that, i love the supernatural... i like reading about dragons (who are bad in the bible) witches and wiccans (who are also bad in the bible) ghosts (who we should not come in contact with according to the bible) and magick (which is very bad in the bible).

i don't understand, everything that i like is bad according to the bible... and things that i stand up for is bad to God...

so is the bible correct? because people tend to say that the bible is God's Holy Word.... how? if it's written by humans... people who are flawed in every way? It either means that man wrote the bible for their own needs or God is mean himself...

I don't know anything about it. I was just reading an article about Tom Cruise not being allowed to film a movie on Germany military bases because he is part of a cult that makes money aka scientology. That's what they said anyway. So what exactly is scientology?

A woman is going to the doctors to have an abortion. A man comes up and mugs her. He shoots her in the stomach and the baby dies but she does not. Should he be charged with the account of murder for the baby since the mom was on her way there?

Mine are ANYONE who uses ONE verse in the bible to prove a point, not the whole story or lesson in which it happens (this includes Churches outside of Yahoo Answers too by the way). EVERYONE please quit twisting the word of God to suit your own needs. I can take a random sentence out of the dictionary and get it to mean what I want to make a statement. I can take any ONE verse out of the bible to prove a point, however it might not be they way God intended it. Please use these verses in their context. I mean if you are trying to prove something at least get your facts straight!!!

BLESSINGS!!

Since we concluded that abortion sends babies to Jesus faster, does that mean the atheists are the ones opposed to abortion since they want people to grow up and sin against God's name and then be condemned to hell?

We Christians and you atheists never seem to get along, God, our reality and your fantasy. You guys staunchly believe there is no God, while we believe staunchly there is a God. You know, im not going to judge someone if they don't believe in God, I can't force anyone to believe in Him, while you guys don't judge us for believing in Him. Can we be considered even on these arguments? Can we call it a truce?

Why is it that so many of you try to emulate the Prophet (PBUH) in every single way except in the treatment of women? Why do you let your culture take the lead when it comes to how your treat your wives and daughters? The Prophet (PBUH) cleaned his own mess, served himself his meals, helped with the housework that needed to be done, and never once said that it was the duty of a woman to cook and clean. The men of that time also cooked, and Abu Bakr would even teach other women that did not know how to cook. Why are you so able to pray the way he did, eat the way he did, and otherwise quote everything else, but ignore half of the deen? Do you think you are busier than him, who had the hardest duty of anybody by delivering the message and defending the ummah? And please don't give me that sorry excuse that you are only human, because you seem to excel in prayer so start excelling in how women are treated. What do you say?

Does "no evidence" truly PROVE god does not exist?

when i just asked for individual reasons you KNOW god doesnt exist, all most everyone said "there no evidence".

but that doesn't PROVE he doesnt exist. It is merely >evidence< he does not exist. So unless you know for a fact, provable, that he doesnt exist, arent you a mere agnostic?

Say that you follow when really you ignore most of the basic ideals of christianity, you should respect others beliefs and not try to force others to believe in Christ. We are all allowed to choose what believes we follow so why do you ignore Christs most important words live in peace love and tolerance of one another you give true christians a bad name

Include your religion, if any, and why you feel this way.

I will try to not get involved in the discussion, but the temptation of joining may be too great for me.

I was reading the paper today and there was an article about something called "Conservapedia" - I never heard of it before. It's designed to be a "encyclopedia written from a conservative viewpoint". I checked the site out and one of their requirements for articles is - - When referencing dates based on the approximate birth of Jesus, give appropriate credit for the basis of the date (B.C. or A.D.). "BCE" and "CE" are unacceptable substitutes because they deny the historical basis. - - Not surprisingly, this site was started by Phyllis Schlafly's son.

Thoughts on this?

Remember when you read the gospels. The ones that spoke about the life of Jesus, what he stood for, the miracles he performed, the challenges he encountered, and the pesky Pharisees whom he spend a whole lota time debating and teaching. I remember reading how Jesus saw the Pharisees as people cought up in teaching and preaching the law but their hearts where empty. They did not know God. They spend their time believing themselves self righteous and becouse in their feable minds they believed they were serving God they thougth they had the right to. I also remember how Jesus put them on their spot. How he tought them that God must be experienced with the heart and not the mouth. I remember jesus spending most of his time going against these self righteous man who were leading people astray.

Now I see alot of right wing christians doing the same thing these pharisees were but they still dont realize it. Maybe thats why jesus must return. To teach them a lesson!
