Mine are ANYONE who uses ONE verse in the bible to prove a point, not the whole story or lesson in which it happens (this includes Churches outside of Yahoo Answers too by the way). EVERYONE please quit twisting the word of God to suit your own needs. I can take a random sentence out of the dictionary and get it to mean what I want to make a statement. I can take any ONE verse out of the bible to prove a point, however it might not be they way God intended it. Please use these verses in their context. I mean if you are trying to prove something at least get your facts straight!!!
BLESSINGS!!

I agree with you.
Earlier the asker wondered why it is that are so many doctrines called "Christian". The fact is, just as you so astutely pointed out, many are those who enjoy snatching out just the part they want to support their claims, completely oblivious to the fact that their tunnel vision conclusion has created a glaring contradiction with other parts of the Bible.
For any on conclusion about the Bible to in fact make sense and be true, it MUST not deliver it's adherent into contradiction with the rest of the Bible.

1) That some of the same questions come up every hour.
2) Because this site is set up as Q&A and not a real messageboard, the topics come up almost at the speed of a chat room. This doesn't give any time to develop things or to say "We're already discussing that in this other thread."
3) That some people post questions not because they want knowledge, but because they already came to their own conclusions and they just want to find other people who agree so that they can give them "best answer".
I do realize there are plenty of other places on-line to discuss religion though, and I could go some place else. I wonder how many others realize that that's an option though.

Ready?
1. not using decent grammar and spell check
2. Christians using the Bible to support their statements when specifically asked if they have any other way of verifying their statement.
3. people who ask a question then give a big long lecture stating their point of view so that it turns out not to really be a question but a lecture.
4. Christians telling me I am going to hell in their answers even though I tell them I KNOW that they think that and please don't bother telling me again.
5. mean spirited answers to sincere questions
6. LONG CUT AND PASTE QUOTES
7. long cut and paste quotes from the Bible
8. people who misquote facts
9. people who are not open to new ideas
10. people who DON'T ANSWER THE QUESTION THAT IS BEING ASKED, instead answering some other question or saying stuff that has no relation to the question
I can probably think of others, but another pet peeve is answers that are toooooo long, so that's all she wrote.

Mine is anyone who claims the know what the bible was intended for. Christians who think their interpretation of the bible is the right one when they totally ignore the Historical Archeological Record. The fact that most Christians dont realize how many different versions of the bible are out there. Not to mention how many other religions were around before Christianity or Judiasm. People who think the bible was actually inspired or written by God.

I think Yahoo should at least have someone to review what has been reported for abuse before having a question or answer removed. Some folks can't even handle statistics when they don't support their views. Even when the stats are documented and verified they get indignant then punch the abuse button. Ridiculous.

people who ask questions about God and they say "that's not a straight answer"..how would they know if it is a straight answer or not if they don't believe in God or know anything about HIM? of course it's not a straight answer to people...because that's not what they want to hear. i think for a lot of people who claim they know a lot...they sure are close minded. on both ends of the stick. and people who cant be nice. always have to leave some hateful of vindictive answer to a question or statement. just be nice...whether you believe in God or not....and i agree with your statement.
Be Blessed :)

I have 3 major pet peeves about this site, specifically this board.
1) People using "questions" just to blatantly push their own views with questions like "Don't Christans Suck?". (Not that I've seen this one specifically, but it's about the same message in the end usually).
2) People who rate answers only based on their beliefs. Usually it works like this:
Someone posts a question like my first pet peeve. Someone who disagrees answers the question respectfully and accurately, and someone else just rudely attacks whatever the question is designed to attack. People who disagree with the first answers views give it a bad rating, just cause they disagree, and give the 2nd one a great rating.
3) "Answers" like "great answer randusr8". Really, if you like their answer give it a thumbs up, don't waste space answering answers. It causes people who type longer answers to end up way to far to actually answer.
Replies to previous answers:
maja, I must agree about your "Ignorant and uneducated claims about evolution.", only probably for different reasons. People see so many of them, that they don't believe that there are claims against evolution that aren't ignorant or uneducated.

My particular pet peeves involve bad writing. Inattention to grammar and spelling indicate a lack of exposure to the written word.

Mine would be getting violation notices for things that aren't violations, then trying to get Yahoo to respond when I demand justice.

Actually I don't have any. I do not let it get under my skin and if I do not like the tone of the questions at any particular time I surf other sections or go do something else.
