Also, i understand Its not our responsability to prove he doesnt exist (Rusty's TeaPot), But lets face it, the definition of atheist is you know god does not exist, other wise, you do NOT know he doesnt exist and you are agnostic.
So you DO have to have prove if you want to be called an Atheist.

Because there's no evidence for the existence of any gods.
"So you DO have to have prove if you want to be called an Atheist."
No, that's false. Do you really think that you only "know" things that you can prove? That's WAY too black-and-white.

I like how you worded your question to get around "Russel's Teapot (coined by Bertrand Russel). Very smart move.
Your question seems to be addressing “Weak Atheism” vs. “Strong Atheism” as defined here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weak_atheism which I address in the quotations below. I personally never liked the term agnostic, it just seems too wishy-washy and non-committal. While logically I respect their reasoning, I sometimes think they're too afraid of pissing either side off to take a stand.
Richard Dawkins says it best: "We cannot prove that there is no God, but we can safely conclude the He is very, very improbable indeed."
An argument frequently used by believers [is] to force unbelievers to soften their terms by accepting their opponents' definition; "Atheist" means without a concept of God that is logically convincing, not with proof that God does not exist.
— Jim Herrick
If you look up "atheism" in a dictionary, you will probably find it defined as the belief that there is no God. Certainly many people understand atheism in this way. Yet many atheists do not, and this is not what the term means if one consider it from the point of view of its Greek roots. In Greek "a" means "without" or "not" and "theos" means "god." From this standpoint an atheist would simply be someone without a belief in God, not necessarily someone who believes that God does not exist. According to its Greek roots, then, atheism is a negative view, characterized by the absence of belief in God.
— Michael Martin
The atheist, for his part, does not necessarily offer an explanation; he simply does not accept the theist's explanation. Therefore, the atheist need only demonstrate that the theist has failed to justify his position.

I am a Christian, but i respect atheists who are tru to their beliefs. i say this because most are not.
Atheism is knowing that God does not exist.
there are 2 possibilities for the existance of humans.
1 - We were all created by God
2 - We just appeared after the big bang and we are the result of a HUGE coincidence. the atoms that were created by the big bang just happened to form everything that we know.
if you are an Atheist, you must believe that we are the product of coincidence and nothing in this world was created.
if nothing was created, it had no design. if we have no design then there is no such thing as a moral code.
if you are an atheist, you must believe in moral relitivism. why? because knowing right from wrong is something that is only possible if there was somewhere to get moral absolutes from (God). if there is no God then we get our moral code from ourselves.
what does this mean?
it means that no true atheist can get upset if they believe they have been wronged. no true atheist can think high school shootings are wrong or right. if they have a family member who is brutally attacked, they can't feel like it was wrong that it happened.
this is because Atheism says "something that is wrong for you is right for me and something that is wrong for me is right for you"
that is moral relitivism.
therefore i would ask all atheists to take a look at their lives because if you believe that there is a certain moral code to abide by (the law) then there must be something or somewhere that this moral code if coming from (God).
however, i do have respect for atheists who are true to their beliefs. the ones who think they can do what they want because morals are relitive.
but then again... if atheists believe everything is relitive.... can their religion ever be true?
because to have truth, there must be an absolute. which goes against everything that real atheism stands for.
isn't it funny that to know atheism in its true sense, you must first know God?

The definition of an Atheist is someone who does not believe god exists, there is a difference between that and saying "they KNOW god does not exist".
I find it very hard to believe that you are an Atheist given the facts and evidence on hand.

What, we will not choose Jesus or Gandhi? we don't could believe in God to think of that they have got been (in general) stable ethical examples. If I had to choose somebody, then in keeping with danger Robert green Ingersoll or Bertrand Russell. in spite of the undeniable fact that, the theory of your question is amazingly very improper. Atheists do no longer carry on with or worship any particular guy or e book. we do no longer believe in revelations or suited infallible human beings. We cost collective, annoying-won awareness, and in freedom of inquiry. that's stifling to the ethical mind to start each ethical judgment with "What could x do?" X isn't finding out, you're. you're able to take each little thing under consideration and decide what's the terrific direction of action. Atheists are humanists and skeptics, and this involves critically thinking for your self. in case you're prepared approximately asking your self "What could x do?" every time you attain a fork interior the line then you are no longer thinking for your self. Edit: UGH. the three "Nope, you won't have the ability to %. him" edits instruct the question is approximately as trustworthy and undemanding as Kent Hovind's or Harun Yahya's creationist annoying circumstances.

Non-atheist responding. you don't mind, do you? From my advanced intellect I can see that an atheist BELIEVES that God does not exist. This seems to me like a certain amount of FAITH is involved with the BELIEF.
Atheists often quote the droves of info on evolution and how is is a 'fact' (It isn't), and all the inconsistencies of Christianity and religion in general.
Christians quote historical places, names, and events of the mid-east, along with intelligent design and a young Earth.
The truth is, I BELIEVE that God exists. Atheists BELIEVE that God does not exist.
Both require faith.
Welcome, fellow religious person.

No, the definition of atheist is not necessarily the assertion "deities do not exist". It is simply "without theism", meaning "not having a belief in deity". And no, this isn't the same as agnosticism. Agnosticism (to use the original definition of the word) is the assertion that God can never be proved or disproved. It's not mutually exclusive to atheism.

Because even the good suffer!..
Because some wicked people get away with it!..
Because Santa Claus does NOT exist! Santa is part of religion right?..
Religion is a social construct created by humans to deter evil people from continuing, and to promote kind deeds.
Religion is put in place by us humans to instil a guilty conscience in evil-doers, in the hope of making this world a better place.
But, God does NOT exist!

In college I took part in a research study where we compared the effects of prayer on people who are terminally ill. In one set of experiments there was group of ten patients all suffering with the same form of cancer, and the odds were that only one would survive. Sure enough only one survived but he credited god for saving his life. Interestingly enough there was a group that had two survive. When we followed up we learned that the anomalous survivor was an atheist.

I have no proof that he isn't just some little fairy tale created to make people be good for fear of going to "hell". I didn't believe he was real when I was 5 so why would I now that I'm 22. It's sad when even a child can't believe in a fiction character. *shrugs* Who knows maybe I was just weird when I was little and I keep getting weirder every year.
