The Holy Bible says: " The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord".

ROMANS 6:23 KJV

"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you".
JAMES 4:7 KJV

"And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to those things which are not convenient, VS 29...Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness, full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity, whisperers, VS 30... Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents VS 31.. without understanding, law breakers, implacable, unmerciful: VS 32... Who knowing the judgement of God....... have pleasure in them that do them".

I am a Christian yet my views on certain "hot topics" such as homosexuality and abortion are very different from the members of the church that I attend.

For instance, I will not vote for someone just becuase they are against abortion. In fact, I think abortion is a woman's right. I don't think they should make it their form of birth control though.

As for gay people, well some people are born like that. I am not going to judge people if they are born homosexuals.

I love Jesus Christ and have a personal relationship with him and I like most of the sermons because the pastor is just so good!!! But I know I think differently about issues, especially abortion and homosexuality that I am beginning to wonder if I should be attending this church at all. People there think that I think like them on abortion & gays, but I don't. I feel like a fake.

Should I just go to the church & not bother getting involved w/anyone else there? Thoughts anyone?

To the ones who claim you dont like religion being pushed upon you. Why do you come here where it will be pushed upon you? And if you say it is to push back does that make you a hypocrite and the same as the overzealous christians you chastise?

Even though sometime i get angry and might remove holy inscriptions God has always been there for me, i suppose thats why im probably as strong as i am. Its my belief that He exists and i do not have to always prove to Him that i know He exists. When i need Him i talk to Him.

I like to think i talk to Him when in theory im actually speaking to myself, and He helps me. Strong words of comfort when no-one else bothers or even cares.

Do you know that rats are actually a delicacy in parts of africa and people prefer rats to chicken? The organisation just uses the western culinary bias to get money from people to save the poor in Africa! I mean there are poor people there but please present things as they are, "the truth"!

My gf's parents told my gf that Southern Baptist Churches are divided into "White Baptists" & "Black Baptists". And most of them are republicans, while Roman Catholic Church teachings ban racism.

I don't know for sure, but in my church there are so many AA people, even one of the associate pastors is an AA. Most of our church member are republicans, yes it's true. But, former pres Clinton who's a baptist is a democrat while Bush who isn't a baptist is a republican.

Jhn: 14:27 - Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled and do not be afraid.
The world's peace is but a poor reflection of that which god gives to His children. To claim this inheritance, we first need to be in the right relationship with the testator. We must become His children by accepting him as our father in faith (John 1:12). Then we need to seek His perfect will for our lives, accept it, and obey Him (Luke 22:42).
The peace of God is the most wonderful peace imaginable; it enables us to live in peace with god, ourselves and our fellowmen. The peace of Christ is unique and totally different from what the world call peace. It affects every are of our lives. the peace of God is constant and does not change according to our moods. Such peace banishes worry, because that is the weapon the devil uses to undermine our peace. It prohibits fear, because fear is the enemy of all peace. Jesus is our Peace.

Science, is the organized body of knowledge aquired by humans through research and observation, science give us humans a better understanding of technology, mother nature and the world around us, it’s main purpose to the individuals is to produce models of reality.
Science is an important aspect of our lives, but in the wolrd today, science faces a conflict with religion and politics which could exclude it from acheiving it’s main goal.
Ex: the stem cell research: religously it is said to be a sin to many catholics, but for scientists it is an experiment to be fully explored, but politically the U.S president being catholic himself banned any sort of research from happening.
