Do you think that science, knowledge and education are coming under threat from the superstitious/religious? Do you think that the rational will soon lose ground to the irrational? What do you think you can do to defend an age of logic and reason in the face of a tide of superstition and irrationality?

Roman 8.1-12

So then brother and sisters we are debtors not to the flesh,to live according to the flesh you will die;but if by the spirit yo put to death the deeds of the body you will live for all who are led by the spirit of god are children of God for you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear but you have received the spirit of adoption when we cry Abba!Father! it is the spirit bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of god and if children then heirs heirs of god and joint heirs with Christ if in fact we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him

45 Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land. 46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”[k]
47 Some of those who stood there, when they heard that, said, “This Man is calling for Elijah!” 48 Immediately one of them ran and took a sponge, filled it with sour wine and put it on a reed, and offered it to Him to drink.
49 The rest said, “Let Him alone; let us see if Elijah will come to save Him.”
50 And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. - Matt 27:45-50

I'm just curious as to what's going on here. Why would Jesus ask himself why he's forsaken himself, in third person?

And what is the point of prayer through Mary when Jesus stated that in John 14:6 "Jesus said to him: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"

I know that God hears our prays regardless of how we pray, but I was just wondering how you all pray? I usually just close my eyes and say a little prayer in my head, without speaking. Anyone else do this? Or is there a different way you pray? I'd love to know. Thanks. =)

Christians keep telling me he's very witty and funny. I have SUCH a fun idea for Him this morning...

My washer is still not fixed. Matthew 18:19 says where two or more ask in his name, it shall be done on earth as it's done in heaven. I posted a question Friday, saying that if my washer is healed, I will stop saying ANYthing about Christianity on here and I and my children will go to church for a year.

This would be a very fun thing for God - to prove his existance and make me eat my words. Bonus is that my kids might not be damned to hell after being drug to church for a year. What say you? The repairman shows up in an hour and a half. Will you pray?

Non-Catholics believe that all we have to do is to hear His words and accept them and they are saved. However, Jesus said not only do we have to hear His words, but we have to DO WHAT HE TELLS US.

Jesus Christ in Matthew 7:21, had spoken to all of us, and He clearly stated that we have to do the will of the Father. Doing something requires effort, or work.

"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of My Father in Heaven shall enter the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 7:21

"Why do you call me 'Lord, Lord,' and not do what I tell you? Every one who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep, and laid the foundation upon rock; and when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house, and could not shake it, because it had been well built. But he who hears and does not do them is like a man who built a house on the ground without a found

No other day can be the sabbath because no other day was blessed and sanctified by God as was the sabbath, and it was made for everyone not only the Jews because God gave it to Adam and Eve long before there was any Jew or for that sake anybody else on earth.
