We are not condemned for following Jesus Christ in the spirit.

The righteousness of Christ in us has delivered us from the bonds of the old testament law. Now we can be righteous because of the Holy Ghost living in us.

When we have the Holy Ghost in us and follow where he leads us, we will keep the things the Bible teaches us.

If we do not have the Holy Ghost we can not please God.

If we are of God, born of God we will not sin because out thoughts are of God and what pleases him.

God has promised us that we can be heirs and joint heirs in Jesus Christ. All that live by the spirit are sons of God.

It states a lot. First it states that we must not live in accordance with the standards and desires of the world. Paul uses the word Flesh to represent worldly sin. We are to let the Spirit of Christ endwel us and guide us and we are to live in accordance to the Holy Spirit. Being a joint heir in Christ we share kinship with the Jews that believe in Jesus Christ under the promise God gave to Abraham. God told Abraham that through him (Abraham) would all nations be blessed. This blessing came through Jesus Christ. So in essence if you believe in Jesus Christ as Savior you are an adpoted son and daughter under the promise given to Abraham. The last verse is one that Christians often overlook or purposely ignore it seems. We are not promissed that life will be glorious and easy as a Christian. Christ told His followers that the world would hate him and persecution would follow and it was ture. No matter how the world treats us, we must never quit serving Jesus Christ.

Make the soul choice to follow after the spirit; faith, hope, love, joy, peace, patience, honesty, truth, etc... Making the soul choice to die to the flesh reactions (yelling, hitting, cussing, etc.)

This is the flesh lusts that are destructive. Maturing in Christ is choosing to follow after the things of Gods Spirit. The Holy Spirit won't force us to follow, but we have to choose to.

The Spirit doesn't manipulate us with fear & intimidation. This is the worldly spirits who do this. But the Holy Spirit gives us assurance in our spiritman that we are born of God & pray to our Father God without fear (Because Jesus shed blood has made us the righteousness of Christ).

When the world persecutes children born of God, we also suffer in Christ. So also, when the persecuted Church today, suffers, we are with them in prayer. Jesus was innocecnt & tortured to death. So, us who love Jesus, may suffer this too. Because to torture to death to intimidate is how evil mankind can get. Jesus overcame this fear, because even if man torture us to death, to die here is to be in heaven with the Lord. See, no one can kill our everlasting soul/spirit in Christ. They can only kill our perishable body. We will have a new body on resurrection day complete.

Those verses mean have a spiritual walk with God. Before Jesus we were slaved, bound to the sin. But at the cross, flesh was crucified with all its passion. We need to flee sexual immorality, cursing, stealing but rather act according to the spirit . This life of sanctification is difficult but with Jesus we reign in heaven

As children of God we should chose the actions that show God in our lives rather than returning to the actions we knew before God entered our lives. We should concentrate on our delight in being adopted into the family of God and show our delight by acting as God's children.

Are you asking "what does this scripture mean"?
It is written to "brothers and sisters"..., OTHER BORN-AGAIN BELIEVERS.
We are not accountable to our "flesh"; our old habits, our human desires because it will KILL the "real us", which is now, after the born-again experience, a NEW CREATURE.
We PUT TO DEATH, "the deeds of the body" by literally saying, "Lord, I have always been an over-eater, had an alcoholic drink when I pleased, spent my money without regard to tithing or giving to the poor, etc, I bring those old habits and patterns to death on Your cross, and now I realize I need to consult YOU about all these matters. Forgive me, and teach me day by day how to restructure my life, now that ALL of me belongs to YOU" (or something of the sort).
We are NOT slaves to rules and drudgery and 'have-to's or fear of death. Children of God, those born-again through our new relationship with Lord Jesus, ARE led by that Spirit of God inside our spirit and we get that little INSIDE nudge to DO as Jesus did and BE as Jesus was on the earth..., it's a little sigh of relief when we move in the right direction.., and a little 'inside NO" when it's not God's will for us. Literaly, our "spirit" has been made alive to God and we truly ARE a NEW person on the inside. We let "peace" be our umpire of the inner-witness as to our 'doing and being'. Call it a new conscience or new heart or inside conscience.., but it is God leading us and this is 'witness' inside us that we ARE God's children.. and we say to God, "Daddy".., Loving Father, we feel and "KNOW" that connection. To BE a born-again child of God MAKES US BY INHERITANCE an heir to God's blessings and gifts and we, by this process of accepting God's fatherhood and Jesus' brotherhood, MAKES US LITERALLY JOINT-HEIRS/EQUAL HEIRS with Jesus: meaning we get what He got when He died and raised from the dead; which is: eternal life and the power of attorney to use His name in prayer over satan and all demonic forces; where spiritual death can no longer threaten us.
Of course, we still have our free will and can always turn away from God in rebellion, but who would do such a stupid thing??
"if in fact we suffer with him so that we many also be glorified with him", means it is our suffering of PUTTING TO DEATH THE DEEDS OF THE FLESH as Jesus did.., our flesh isn't happy to be disciplined or told "no"; but we are not alone in it and can call on God to help us and the victory is INSURED, because Jesus already did it and all we have to be is WILLING TO CHANGE IT..., like put down the cigarettes.., and HE WILL SEND YOU ALL THE INNER STRENGTH YOU NEED if you are truly serious.., and then, we are glorified with Him in the sense that we can walk in this world ABOVE yielding to the flesh and bowing to all it's "wants". God wants us to have our "desires" fulfilled, He just wants our desires to be those things that will NOT harm or hurt us or others.
I hope this helps. God bless you MUCH!
Our spirit can only dominate our flesh by joining with Jesus and allowing HIM to BE LORD over our flesh.
Also in Romans, we are told to "PRESENT OUT BODIES a living sacrifice", that is not a difficult thing. Just say, "Lord, here is my flesh body today, help make it what YOU want it to be; not my master, but mine and your servant". He will do it as long as YOU follow that "inner witness" and don't violate your own peace. It gets to be your daily habit and you will WANT GOD'S GLORY AND POWER OPERATING ON AND THROUGH YOU.

It means that as believers in Christ and what He has done for us we are free of our pasts and because of the presence of the Holy Spirit in us God sees us the same as He sees Christ as one of His Children. We are forgiven sin past, present and future because as humans we will always sin because we will never be perfect until we are with Him in Heaven. The power of sin has lost it's power over us and the Holy Spirit helps us to overcome them.
