It is just an excuse to do what they want to do, and feel justified in doing it. Tolerance & Freedom are the two things that will be stripped from America very soon. They have become idols. God will destroy them sooner than people think.

Don't tell me you're one of those "anti-tolerance" nuts.
I hear from a lot of "Christians" that tolerance is some kind of liberal code word for "manipulating" society. You know, if we "tolerate" gay people, God will send hurricanes to punish us, and we'll wind up with people marrying farm animals, that whole line of alarmist insanity. And of course these "Christians" are utterly intolerant of any religion but their own particular brand.
Well, these people need to get the hell out of America. Afghanistan is more what they're looking for. This country happens to be about mutually assured freedom through mutual tolerance.
"Their idea of tolerance means compromising your beliefs.
To compromise is surrender...you gain nothing but only lose ground. Truth is truth. Should we deny the truth?"
The problem with this mentality, of course, is that it leads directly to fascism. Actually, it IS fascism. "Religious" people too often forget that their right to worship as they choose is bound up with everybody else's right, because their religion tells them that "Truth is truth" and defines that truth, so that they assume that everything else must be a lie.
Again: "It is just an excuse to do what they want to do, and feel justified in doing it. Tolerance & Freedom are the two things that will be stripped from America very soon. They have become idols. God will destroy them sooner than people think."
So my ideas about morality and religion are just "excuses," while you have God on speed-dial. I hope most people can understand how dangerous this mentality is for ALL of us.

I think many/most people seem to (purposely) take the word "tolerate" to have the same definition of the word "acceptance".
Whenever you hear someone talking about how much they hate tolerance, you can just about be certain they should really be saying "acceptance".

I have seen this word used with a stilted definition.
Their idea of tolerance means compromising your beliefs.
To compromise is surrender...you gain nothing but only lose ground.
Truth is truth. Should we deny the truth?
I thought about this exact thing about an hour ago.

Because our world's getting smaller and there's no sticking to your own place with your own kind anymore. And because we're seeing what intolerance does, which causes unnecessary hardship and pain.

Tolerance vs. Love
Tolerance says, "You must approve of what I do."
Love responds, "I must do something harder:
I will love you even when your behavior offends me."
Tolerance says, "You must agree with me."
Love responds, "I must do something harder:
I will tell you the truth,
because I am convinced 'the truth will set you free.'"
Tolerance says, "You must allow me to have my way."
Love responds, "I must do something harder:
I will plead with you to follow the right way,
because I believe you are worth the risk."
Tolerance seeks to be inoffensive;
Love takes risks.
Tolerance glorifies division;
Love seeks unity.
Tolerance costs nothing;
Love costs everything.
