I know that God hears our prays regardless of how we pray, but I was just wondering how you all pray? I usually just close my eyes and say a little prayer in my head, without speaking. Anyone else do this? Or is there a different way you pray? I'd love to know. Thanks. =)

I talk to God like I talk to anyone else. I say what is on my mind and I thank him for the life he has given me.

I pray silently all the time, whenever I see the need. Also try to do it when I wake up. A couple times a week I get together with friends and pray aloud. It was something that really scared me at first but I find God has helped me past that, I feel it is important to pray that way with others.

I pray in a number of ways. Sometimes I write letters to God, and that also helps me see how God has worked in my life through the times. I pray aloud sometimes because it helps me focus on what I am praying about. Sometimes I Pray in my head like you. It depends on the setting and mood. There is no "right way" to pray except it should be in reverence, although I have been upset a time or two, but I checked my attitude real quick.

Hi Wrongnumber, there is a rule that says as long as prayer is directed to God from the heart then there is no wrong way to pray, what you do is fine and I would pray like this at times too.
The methods are many but the destination is the same,I vary at times with set prayers to meditation and contemplation at other times my prayer might be a heart to heart discussion with Jesus, but in the end it is all good and worthwhile.

Kind regards to you.

I pray like you do at times, some times I am down on my knees, sometimes I pray out loud, sometimes I pray within myself. Sometimes I stand up with my hands lifted and pray. I pray many different ways. I really don't think it matters how you pray just as long as you pray!! You have a blessed day.

This is what I told my 3rd grade SS class I taught.Talk to God just like you are talking to your best friend.I pray in many different ways, sometimes like you just talk to Him in my head, other times I pray as I am driving (not closing my eyes)that would be bad.To me there is no right or wrong way to pray God just wants to here from us.

Sometimes I pray silently (in my head) and just sit and wait for God to answer (I don't mean audibly answer). I know that when I accepted God's son, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit came to live inside me. I listen for His voice. I have sometimes done this for as long as an hour.

Other times, I pray aloud--just talking to God about what is going on in my life, asking for his help, listening for His voice, thanking Him for His many blessings, praying for others, etc. Other times I pray in tongues (the heavenly language God gave to me when He baptized me in the Holy Spirit.) The bible says that he who speaks in an unknown tongue speaks to God--and not man. Therefore, when I pray in tongues, it bypasses my intellect, my human understanding, and therefore, I pray not for my will, but God's will through the power of the Holy Spirit. When I pray in tongues, I usually don't know what I am saying unless the Spirit of God gives me the interpretation. The bible speaks of this also.

Other times, I pick up my bible and pray the Word of God or Psalms and prayers that I find in the bible. The bible says that grass withers and the flower fades, but the Word of God stands forever. Therefore, praying God's Word, quoting his Word, standing on, believing, and having faith in His Word definitely works.

I hope this helpful.

It depends on what I am praying for and where I am praying. I say a pray every morning and sometimes I say it silently, sometimes i say it out loud. When I pray at meals, I usually say it silent, unless I am with another believer, or at home with my hubby. In church I pray out loud.

Sometimes I get on my knees and sometimes I sit outside or lie in bed when I'm falling asleep. I like to pray out loud only because my mind tends to wander if I pray to myself. lol But it doesn't matter to Him I'm sure. All that matters is that we are loving Him and showing faith in Him by praying to Him.
