First off..Atheism will never be embraced by the masses, Go to Saudi Arabia, IRAN, Iraq, Egypt and preach Atheism that will get you a date on the chopping block...

Secondly you are correct the ARABS have been fighting with the Jews for *Forever* the only thing is now they have the ability to acquire nuclear weapons, so saying you don't give a hoot what happens over there, is just going to come back to haunt you here in the USA or Europe...

And why don't you answer the question????

If a Political Leader emerges that brings PEACE to the Middle East will you embrace him? yes or no?

I can't think of a single non-christian organization that's gotten any of this federal money, though you'd think they'd have some token grants in there just to look good.
Why not just change the name to Christian Based Initiatives?

or do they merely study religious verses and texts on a theoretical level and argue using these text with people from another religion?

Isnt the purpose (or essence) of a religion to cultivate a person's nature (from bad to good, from good to better?)
I do feel puzzled cos i see many ppl getting fierce when certain ideologies dont agree with what they were preached... are these ppl supposed to feel angry? Isnt anger an attachment that blinds a person's wisdom?

So what do u think? Shd religious ppl argue endlessly about theories or practice the essence of the teaching?

Of course for many Christians we see no PEACE EVER in the region until Jesus Christ returns, but I assume those who do not believe this you have another solution? if so what is it?

And I assume if a leader comes out of the Middle East can acheive PEACE with the Arabas and Jews you will be all for that?
Yes or no?
I think that is a simple question for those who will try to answe honestly.

Just wondering cause if the US has its backbone in Christianity as some say then shouldn’t heaven at least give us some of those constitutional rights...such as a trial by jury?

At church yesterday I told a couple of people that I've been on Yahoo 360 answering questions, and that some of the atheists call me "fundy".
well...
That was the funniest thing they'd ever heard, because half of the people at my church think I'm an agnostic who just shows up for the cookies, and the rest think that I come to argue with the Bible study, sing, and, uh, eat the cookies.
So now I am Brian Fundy, to their great delight---my real last name starts with an F, so it sort of fits, has the right rhythm, and is suitably ridiculous. Buy...I sorta like it, so thank's y'all. Have a drink. I'm getting tired of the Pascal's Wager thing---what other phrases or subjects can I raise to attack your livers in the morning?

made a few mistakes, but who hasn't? I think if we keep doing the old praying thing, things won't be so bad in the end.

I am curious about the Church of Christ or ICOC (are they the same thing?) Anyone a member, previous member, visitor, have any opinions, thoughts, ect. I once attended the Toronto church of Christ and I went to their site which provided a link to the ICOC where I found a church nearby. I also found another church in Toronto called the International church of Christ who do not associate with the Toronto church of Christ (the one I attended) anyways, can anyone tell me more about these type of churches, both positive and negative, if you know anything. Thanks...oh also do they believe that they are the only church you can be saved by, only their members are saved? (I am strongly against this)

Through my life since a child, being abused in every way imaginable, raped/sodomized/beaten as a young women, and having to endure some really hurendous stuff throughout my life.

I've always tried to keep my faith in God. I'm feeling a little weary and want to continue in my faith, but I'm feeling a great deal of weariness and want to know how do you continue in your faith when you feel so let down and all alone?

Is there anyone who can share and be serious enough to truly help?

It's about Kirk Cameron "converting": http://potw.news.yahoo.com/s/potw/41/left-behind

The link to it was titled "Kirk Cameron Brings Religion to the Internet". So, there was no religion on the internet before Kirk Cameron? Is that kind of like how Al Gore invented the internet?

The real question: the following comment really concerned me "I was rich, I was young, I was famous, I could do anything I wanted with whomever I wanted." I can't believe he had absolutely no morals before "finding God". Is it experiences like Kirk's shallow pre-God existence that make Christians think atheists are all like that? Do you think "God" was the only way Kirk could change his incredibly selfish attitude? How do all the moral atheists do it without God?

Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on Earth as it is in the Heavens
Do we see the Kingdom of the Heavens as being in Heaven or on the earth.
If so.. do we go to heaven or does God's real interest dwell on earth ... does he want to take us to heaven or does he want his Kingdom to be on the earth for eternity on the New Earth.
Does this whole matter bring into question the thought of " going to heaven"

How do you see the Middle East being resolved?
Israel will NEVER give up Jerusalem. Iran will NEVER recognize Israel.. Radical Islam will NEVER give up on wiping the west and Israel..
Now since that has been established, don't you think your *Prime Pickins* for a leader who comes to power bring PEACE to entire region and who the Democrats will embrace and fool many in the USA that we finally have PEACE with the ARABS the JEWS and no longer are we a target for radical ISLAM.. Will many of you say how peachy we now can live without the influence of the republican warmongers and live the way we want with tolerating everyone and leaving GOD out of the equation?
Are you ready for the Peaceful Political Leader now?

I've always had loads of fun hating Bon Jovi. They are one of the bands I love to hate.
Now, those jerks have gone and screwed it all up....I think I actually like their new song "Make a memory".
I'm so disappointed.
Oh well....I've still got Britney. No *way* she's ever coming out with a song I'll like!

Do you think you are better than us?
Do you believe that we are evil / defective?
Does the fact that we have an open mind and are asking questions about our existence make us dammed in the eyes of your god?

I just read a question posted by someone asking other Pagans about Pagan deities. Out of all the answers, the most hateful & sarcastic were the ones posted by christians telling the OP to "turn to christ" or "accept god & jesus". You don't see us Pagans giving snarky "you must convert" answers to christian's questions...why must christians CONSTANTLY demean and ridicule our religion with their unnecessary input????
