Are you asking Christians or Pagans? I wouldn't want you to think I am answering when you don't want me to.

You have some excellent answers by a few Christians on here, and I really respect them for their honesty. And in all honesty I often answer Christian questions, but only in a positive way and never to demean or discourage them from their beliefs. Never in a hateful nor sarcastic way.
They answer by preaching and trying to covert because that is what they are TAUGHT to do! A few think for themselves, like some who answered your question, but most don't know how. They can't be bothered to try to learn what we are actually about and only know what they have been told. That and I think some just can't read! They see the word "pagan' "Wicca" or "witch and go off on their tangent, without actually finding out what the question is.

Oh Gods isn't that annoying?
I think some do it because they truly think they are 'saving us from hell'.However I'm sure others just like offending Pagans.
I love the idea of muffinbiatch's answer-'Convert a Pagan day' Lol-wouldn't surprise me if some fundies did have 1!

Christians feel that it's their duty to convert others, so that they may "save" their souls. It's not just Pagans that they do this to- it's those of any non-Christian religion.
I personally don't mind it most of the time, but there are some times and places where it just isn't approprate.
It frustrates me to see them doing this when others are simply trying to ask a question. If they don't have a answer to the question, they shouldn't bother.
Blessed be.

The comic tale of it truly is that Christians ARE pagans. what's an order of nuns different than an echo of the classic Greek secret traditions? we are able to thank Paul for that one. what's the deification of the Christian messiah different than an echo of historical Roman character cults and the Cult of the Emperors? A Jew of the era could have advised you that it incredibly is the very definition of idolatry. what's Christian theology different than a retelling of the mythos of the Egyptian cult of Osiris? initially, Christianity replaced right into a Jewish sect that believed that Jesus replaced into the messiah, regardless of the indisputable fact that it moved very a ways from that over the centuries because it replaced into paganized by ability of Greeks, Romans and Egyptians.

I see your point. We may chime in with opinions if we think the Christian is beating themselves up unnecessarily or being too judgemental ("It's okay to masturbate, and please don't throw away your sister's tarot cards.") That's not the same as saying that all Christianity is awful and one MUST convert and embrace the Gods NOW, which is a Bizarro version of what some Christians have been doing. I don't get it, either. If you can't help, answer another question--isn't it obvious?

Because that's what all Christians seem to do. Most of them think that Christianity is the ONLY way to go, and that everything else is wrong. But if they were true Christians and would preach every part of the Bible, not just what they pick and choose, then they'd realize that it's not their place to judge, it's God's.

Any way you could link to that question? As a pagan, I'd like to answer that one.
As for why christians do it, it's part of their mandate to sell fire insurance. Try not to let it get to you. We aren't the only group that they target.
