It's about Kirk Cameron "converting": http://potw.news.yahoo.com/s/potw/41/left-behind

The link to it was titled "Kirk Cameron Brings Religion to the Internet". So, there was no religion on the internet before Kirk Cameron? Is that kind of like how Al Gore invented the internet?

The real question: the following comment really concerned me "I was rich, I was young, I was famous, I could do anything I wanted with whomever I wanted." I can't believe he had absolutely no morals before "finding God". Is it experiences like Kirk's shallow pre-God existence that make Christians think atheists are all like that? Do you think "God" was the only way Kirk could change his incredibly selfish attitude? How do all the moral atheists do it without God?

I love this ending:

"Cameron says he'd love to do non-religious films and TV again, but at times it's difficult to convince producers that while he has found Jesus, he hasn't lost his sense of humor."

And you know, it's true! He's made me laugh harder now than he ever did on "Growing Pains"!

Cameron was a born again Christian when he was a kid - and has always lived the life. I don't think he has done 5% of the things you think he has done. He has been a pretty straight and narrow kind of guy all along.

I remember hearing him talking about his faith on Entertainment Tonight, for goodness sake.

To me, his foray into Christian media is probably better for him - he seems like an okay guy.

Atheists have morals because they have the ability to understand cause and effect without someone else telling them what to think, do, and be. Most Atheists are people with stronger personalities and stronger sense of self that others. Just my observation. I would trust and Atheist over a Christian any day.

You don't need a belief in God to have a moral life - Actually, I think many born-again Christians are the most amoral people I have encountered. Do you really think Benny Hinn is moral? If you do, I pity you.

First of all, not all atheists are alike. Just as not all Christians are alike. Would an Orthidox Christian celebrate Christmas the same way a Baptist would celebrate Christmas? Next, I'm sure there are some Christians out there who would be able to respect someone's beliefs and consequently behave in a civilized manner with an atheist. Lastly, the term moral atheists is actually quite fitting. There are actually atheists out there that have a moral code that they adhere to. To answer your next question: I'm not an atheist. I just don't believe in most religions.

There are not enough words to say about Kirk Cameron. He's just messed up. I mean, I respect what he's TRYING to do, but he's not doing it in the right way whatsoever. He needs to study the Bible and science more so that he can truly teach and speak from intelligence rather than ignorance. We don't want "the blind leading the blind."

I don't believe he said he had no morals. I also don't think all athiests are like that, so you lumping us into a group is incorrect. God may very well have been the only way for him to change. From what I've read very few celebrities lead a Christian-like/moral life.

Such a judgemental question to a simple article. 'Judge not lest ye be judged' is from the Word that I try to follow. Atheists misunderstand self declared Christians just like I do. To understand a self declared Christian is like trying to understand a self declared minister. True Christians are ones that follow the Word of God, written in the bible. There is no picking and choosing verses to believe. It is either believe it all, or not. It all comes down to either acceptance or denial. Believers or atheists. Apparently, you have chosen your side. So I won't judge you for your actions, but I will pray for your deliverance from denial.

Kirk Cameron is irrelevant. I don't know why anyone pays him the slightest bit of attention. I mean, that banana thing? If he ever had any credibility to begin with, it was gone the second he sat next to that guy who was going on about the banana.

I saw that... it really made me laugh... he's such an idiot...

I think you have a valid point... perhaps people with poor impulse control and a lack of morals are drawn to religion. It would explain how they can't seem to understand that well-adjusted people don't need a mythical god to have good morals.

The narrative requires that current Christians have been immoral atheists (or some other brand of jerk) before their miraculous conversion. It's been this way since Saul/Paul.

Hello dear!

Well, from experience I know that the lesser people play it religious and blame their wrong behavior on religion or god!
Yes, this is Blasphemy! This is the only blasphemy!
