It should be. Probably the reason it isn't is that there are still people around who think religion is not mythology. Give it time...

But really. Religion isn't a myth to everyone. To some it is. To me it is. But everyone has the right to believe what they want. So let's leave it at that.

i think it's because religion is religion. the stories that surround any religion can be separate. Not to mention, aliens and ghosts. those are "mythological" but not religious.
