Its real, but for the most part its just a hokey kind of atheism. Get a copy of the Satanic Bible if you are interested in Laveyan Satanism or look for a copy of the Jeweled Tablets of Set for a slightly different perspective.

This may sound weird but most people who profess to be Satanists don't believe in a literal Satan but take it as a symbolic concept, and combine this with a sort of social darwinst ideology.

That has been the topic of protracted debated in the last few decades. The author of the satanic bible, Anton Zandor LaVey was a carney -- and actually a pretty nice individual when you sat down and spoke with him -- and the satanic religion espoused in his work was mostly hype and parcel of a money making apparatus.

There have been malevolent groups practicing as 'satanists' who perform various acts of depravity. Some of the more disturbing manifestations are of a distinctly sadist/cruelty/sociopath extraction. Others are more of a costume and effects showmanship strain.

The bottom line is satanism is real in that it is practiced. The underlying causality and consequences are variable and diverse.

Were satanism purely the stuff of urban myth the accounts of it's perversion in the annals of law would not exist.

Satanism is real.

Whatever you heard about it is likely an urban myth.

Hollywood style satanism is a myth. The people I know who call themselves 'satanists' are usually disaffected with current social and religious norms and have sought out alternative paths. Its like an 'anti-religion'. Its all purely symbolic.

Satanism is real, as Satan is real.
Recently, Saddam's Cousin 'Chemical Ali' was sentenced to hang for the deaths of 180,000 people, including the gassing of the Kurds.
The chemicals he had weren't the standard chemical weapons that the U.S. or Russia had. In Desert Storm, we called it a 'Saddam Cocktail' ( a combination of Nerve, Blood, and Blister agent), and if we were hit with it, we had 45 minutes to get out of the area, because it would literally eat the filters out of our gas masks.
Chemical Ali used this on civilians with no protection. They died pulling the skin off of their faces and screaming.
Torture rooms have been discovered in Iraq containing unspeakable horrors.
Iraq and much of the region are now struggling to be free of the oppression that has been in the area for a LONG time.
The Iraqi people are finally rid of Saddam and his ilk, and are free to choose their destiny. The world should be glad. Instead, they focus on the 'evil oppression' of the U.S. 'invading' a sovereign nation.
They deliberately choose to be blind of one of the most brutal regimes in modern times, because of their hatred for democracy, and those who want to foster it.
Evil defending evil.
Yes, Satan is alive and well on planet Earth.

Some folks worship rocks, trees, cars, money, Flying Spagetti Monsters, invisible deities, and other strange things. Why not Satan?

It is a real religion, but most popular portrayals of it are inaccurate. Many (perhaps most) satanists don't even believe in a literal Satan.

Satan is real. People worshiping Satan, that is real too. I've read many people's answers stating that people worship satan even though they don't believe in him, Please! Wake up. We worship our God and Saviour and we can't say he doesn't exist, that's obsured, it doesn't make any sense.
I feel so so sorry for people because they believe Satan is not real and when the reality hits them it will be tooooo late. My dear, Satan is real. The Bible says so and it is true.
