My cousin is very gay, and also very mormon. Although he, nor anyone else in the family, will ever admit he is.

We are all tempted in different ways. Some of us are attracted to the opposite sex, and others to the same sex. There is no sin in the attraction or "being gay" It is acting on those feelings when sins are commited. I'm sure there are active mormons that have those feelings, and I would think that some have acted on them. Just as I think there are active members that have or are comitting heterosexual adultery. If it were to be discovered then the church would most likely take disciplinary measures through either disfellowship or excommunication and work with the person to repent of their actions.

Up until the late 1980's BYU had a homosexual aversion therapy that involved electroshock to the 'nether regions' while looking at gay male por-nography. It is doubtful that lesbianism was ever addressed as these inspired men of god just couldn't come up with a 'proper treatment' that didn't give them naughty thoughts.
Anyway, this is the mindset of the church and it's educational system, and so goes the state of Utah.

anyone who is found to be gay is excommunicated, so yes, the general consensus is that there are no active gay Mormons.

There will be gay active mormons,its wether they are sexually active or not that causes membership issues but that goes for heterosexual as well, pretty fair I say.

when I was going to church I knew a few mormons that I'm pretty sure were gay but they were deep in the closet they were gathering dust

well, doesn't all christianity do this?
the majority of them will claim that any gay christian isn't a "true" christian anyway.
