No it is not just another holy book and here is the reason why, God speaks to mankind in the Old Testament and this revelation of God is like a thread running through the O.T and regardless of what history the Israelites(Jews) may have added it cannot take away the relevance of God`s word.
In the New Testament we meet the `Word` of God` made man in person(Jesus Christ) and as the opening passage of John`s Gospel states,`In the beginning was the `Word` and the Word was with God, and the Word was God`` this same God became man and so the scripture is not just sentences in black and white but the living Word come down from Heaven, this is the only book that can be truly said to be `Alive`

Its a book with many moral and sacred truths, not so many historical truths and hardly any scientific truths at all.

I have to reject that it is the sacred word of God as spoken to men. The wisdom may well be inspired by the Divine, but man has always seemed to be a poor prism for which God to shine His light through.

"The Bible has got noble poetry in it, and some good morals, and a wealth of obscenity, and upwards of a thousand lies." - Mark Twain.

The Bible is a boring book. It's writers had no talent as writers. Some of what they wrote about may be approximately true, in a general sense, though they get the details mixed up, such as who the good guys were and who the bad guys were and what the fight was really about. The account would be correct, however, in that a fight took place. That's the sort of mix of truth and lies you commonly get in the Bible.

Yes it is a sacred book

But not a book that you take literally

The bible has a lot of metaphors and if you study religion like I do you will know that it has a multitude of pagan rituals and beliefs.

"Merely sacred"? You do know what those two words mean, right? Even if it were sacred, as opposed, I guess, to the word of God, that still means it is holy and pure.

LOL. Yeah. That's what it is alright. The divinely inspired word of the Lord. That's "all". I have no idea which direction this is coming from. But the use of the modifier "merely" is incongruous and funny, appearing just before "sacred".

A book, written by men. A famous and popular book but still just a book.

The bible is merely the collection of "creation myths" from the judeo/christian tradition.
