They were deemed heretics in the 15th century and have spent the last 7 centuries conjuring up innovation after innovation furthering themselves even more from the original church. Talk is cheap, and it is all aimed at the Latins wanting the Orthodox to accept their innovations and supremacy of their Pope. Even the current Pope is not willing to say "I am not the Vicar of Christ, supreme head of all Christianity". They can talk for centuries and nothing will change until the Church of Rome disavows all the things that led to them being called heretics by Saint Mark.

Better than antagonism between"Papists and Caesaropapists".
Dialogue does not mean compromise but rather talking to others respectfully, listening to them and growing in understanding of them and they of you.
Of course, different Orthodox "factions and denominations"divided by calendars, secular politics, hierarchs'personalities, ethnic "phyletism" and so on and so on could use a good bit of dialogue among themselves.
I think that friendly discourse between the varied Eastern Orthodox Churches and the Roman Catholic Church is what Christ wants and that cooperation in doing Works of Mercy ( like helping the sick and poor) together is needed. Dialogue between the varied Eastern Orthodox Churches and the Oriental Orthodox,Anglo-Catholic Anglicans, traditional Old Catholics and others is already going on as well as dialogue with Catholics.

I don't know of any "Roman Church", but the dialogue between the Orthodox Church and the Holy Catholic Church will hopefully lead to a major step toward Christian unity by allowing the Orthodox to come out of schism, and re-establish themselves within God's plan, just as they were prior to the 11'th Century.

I think it is great.
"The Catholic Church embraces with hope the commitment to ecumenism as a duty of the Christian conscience enlightened by faith and guided by love…Jesus himself, at the hour of his Passion, prayed 'that they may all be one' (John 17:21)." -- Pope John Paul II, Ut Unum Sint, May 25, 1995.
The Catholic Church already has the following open dialogs with her sister Churches:
- The North American Orthodox-Catholic Theological Consultation
- The Joint Committee of Orthodox and Catholic Bishops
- The Oriental Orthodox-Roman Catholic Consultation
- The Polish National Catholic-Roman Catholic Dialogue
- The Anglican-Roman Catholic Consultation USA
- The Lutheran-Catholic Dialogue
- Roman Catholic-Reformed Consultation
- The United Methodist-Catholic Dialogue
- Southern Baptist Convention-Catholic Dialogue
- The Evangelical-Catholic Dialogue
- Faith and Order Commission, National Council of Churches of Christ in the USA
- Consultation with the National Council of Synagogues
- Consultation with the Orthodox Union and the Rabbinical Council of America
Here is the joint declaration of justification by Catholics (1999), Lutherans (1999), and Methodists (2006):
By grace alone, in faith in Christ's saving work and not because of any merit on our part, we are accepted by God and receive the Holy Spirit, who renews our hearts while equipping us and calling us to good works.

It is just the beginning. Soon all Christianity will merge and be reunited with the Catholic Church. That will be the beginning of the time of trouble. If you don't believe me, wait and see.

Do you even know what a heretic is? WTF is wrong with them talking??? The church split for political reasons, justified by your quoted apologist.
