You are who you are and I am who I am, often we tell people they don't have the right to tell us who or how we should be or act. Well, God uses natural things to teach us about himself and dah, why can't he tell you who he is and what he wants through scripture? Is it because your heart is too rebellious?

We can put labels on a door or we can disregard it as fiction, but it still doesn't change the fact he is who he is. We may question scriptures, but truly they do make sense.
Let us take the fact that yes he does like the smell of burnt offerings. Do we enjoy the smells of our favorite foods as they cook? Makes sense to me.
The Father and the Son and The Holy Spirit all have a family name and that is the name of Jesus Christ and there is no name that is higher. (Ephesians 3:14-15 & Phillipians 2:8-12)
I am a changed man who has seen the face of Jesus Christ and I know he is who he says he is. I know this sounds crazy, but he said he would come to us in dreams and visions and he did it for me. Acts 2:15-30.
And he specifically says in scripture that all who believe on the name of Jesus shall be saved.

I like this question! Sometimes, for me, it's because I close the ears on my heart, for some reason or another. It's like walking while deaf. He can tell us who he is. He may not ever come out and say something like "My name is God, and I'm gonna change your life.", but when scripture is put together, it turns out to be something like that.
Sometimes the heart is rebellious, due to our own selfishness, and insecurity of ourselves. Nice question though! Got me thinkin...

bobby b. depends on what church doctrine you accept. God is God & Jesus is his son, I donot believe in the "trinity" adopted by the RCC constitine that he adopted through the pagan/roman culture. I believe in 3 seperate intities with the same focus job wise, God the father,Jehovah, created all things & there is his son Jesus, the word, &God also gave Jesus the ability to create things for he says this in genisis when he said "lets create man in our image" then the holy spirit is Gods power, the holyspirit dwells in you, if he were a true "man" as some churches teach a man can't dwell in another man. So no the man made trinity theory does not fly with me,but God gave us freewill, so where I disagree, is where another person might believe, therefore it is not my place to judge them. but please google "trinity"& see what is said.

The true god does not identify nim self as Jesus. The true God Identifies him self as Jehovah GOD. Ps 83 :18
Ex 6,3,4, If his name is removed then it is repaced with LORD.
Thats why you see LORD god. Upper case capitals or lower case capitals means that they replaced God's name with the title Lord. Remember Lord is not a name but a title to a name.

Such as president, king, lord, chanceler, prince, prime minister, leader, govennor, and so on.

You need to start your reseach with the " tetragramaton " found in most dictionary's or encyclopdias. then you will get a better understanding.

Sincerely yours,

I suspect that he could tell us that if he was real. My problem, when I started reading the bible, is that it does not even come close to being credible by any standard that I can imagine. The only possible explanation, IMHO, is that it is a man-made document that people take far too seriously.

Case in point - do you really believe that he finds the smell of burning animal sacrifices to be pleasing to his nostrils ?

Wow (sheesh)

I don't believe God is telling me that. I read the scriptures, I think people wrote them, not God. It is not a rebellious act; I simply do not believe them.

And on the eighth day all of the millions of books in the world just up and vanished, except for the Bible of course.

All paths lead to the top of the mountain.

Psalms 83:18" That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah,
You alone are the MOST HIGH over all the earth.

Luke 1.32 "This one will be great and will be called SON OF THE MOST HIGH; and Jehovah God will give him the throne of David his father.

I'm not surprised that you are Pentecostal.

I'm also not surprised that you are a changed man. You must have been at rock-bottom before converting. Probably drugs and alcoholism.

this explains it clearly.....
John 3:
19This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God
