Jesus Christ who is the Son of God vs Nostradamus who is not the Son of God. Why is it that Nostradamus predict is more understandable than Jesus Christ who leave us in mysteries. Who to believe?

I remember in high school, all of my friends had curfews and I didn't. They all wanted to stay out until the last minute because they just KNEW they were missing out on something. I was usually the one who was home long before them because I had no restriction on my time. It seems that those who have all of these restrictions have this idea that those who don't are out having the times of their lives, when in fact, they live peaceful moral lives. Perhaps that's the problem. Those who have all of these taboos are jealous because they think they're missing out. Your respectful thoughts?

Or do you require the threat of punishment or the hope of reward to keep you from being bad? What about doing good purely for the sake of doing good? I
Who is the most moral-the person who is good out of fear or the person who is good for goodness' sake?

In the beginning, most Christians were Jewish converts that still held to the Jewish traditions. As such, they attended the Synagogue on Saturday. Saturday, being the Sabbath, they were refrained from many tasks, including travel beyond a "Sabbath days journey" (about 3000 yards). Therefore, from the beginning the Lord's Church met on Sunday. Also, Sunday is called the "Lord's Day" in Scripture. Paul acknowledged that the church met on the first day of the week. So, if is good enough for Paul and the apostles of Christ, then its good enough for us today.

For example: would you blame a girl for not honoring her father, after that same father had raped her?

And would you blame the mother in Africa, that couldn't feed her child for a week, for stealing an apple?

Or suppose someone breaks into your house and says "Where is your child? I'm going to murder him." Would you be allowed to lie when you answered?

Well, etc, etc.

I'm just wondering if the 10 Commandments are of absolute value to you, or if certain exceptions would make sense to you as well.

I mean really people? If you don't believe in a God, then there must be no consequences for your actions...right? Ignore some interstellar karma that'll come back to get you, because that would also be bogus!

Knowing this if you're an athiest, wouldn't it just make more sense for you to lie, cheat, steal, and kill to get what you want and make your life a little more enjoyable even if it's at someone else's exspense? It's not like they would care once they were dead if there were no god, and like I said you'd never have to pay for your so called "evil" deeds just as long as you were happy.

there are many people who teach you the wiccan lifestyle, how to cast spells, etc.
I know many who deny being satanists, but they mention people like Alester Crowley. for example there`s a male witch who I saw in tv,and he mentioned Anton Szandor LaVey (the father of the church of Satan)though he claimed to be not satanist, and in the internet,Puzuzu,he says that it pisses him off to be called satanist, but he mentions a Crowley sentence("ordinary things are for ordinary people)

I have devoted many years combating the cults (Jehovas witness and Mormons) and teaching about thier false or dangers doctrines. To do so I have spent many countless hours researching and collecting written material produced by them. I have attended thier meetings and interviewed present and formor members. Everthing I teach can be verified and backed.....yet why do the members of these cults say I slander and report me?

James 3:6
. 6The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

-Do you notice how we do speak things we should not? How corrupt words come out of our mouth? Even when we do not wish for them to? This verse is so true! As is all of God's word of course.
We must be reminded of this- how easily the tongue corrupts!
James 3:9-12
9With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. 10Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. 11Can both fresh water and salt[a] water flow from the same spring? 12My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.

(p) = (peace be upon him)

Dear brothers and sisters,

If I am standing in front of the IBM headquarters building, and a fellow employee unknowingly asked me, "Is this your building, do you own this building?",

and then I replied, "This building is NOT MY OWN, but it belongs to the ONE WHO EMPLOYS ME",

this would clarify to the person asking that I AM NOT THE OWNER, I am just one of the workers. I do not own the building (Universe), the one I work for owns it.

Did Jesus (p) make such statements regarding his status, the words, the will and the power he used?

WORDS

"Jesus answered them and said, 'My doctrine is not mine, but His Who sent me.'" [John 7:16]
"He who does not love me does not keep my words; and the word which you hear is not mine but the Father's Who sent me." [John 14:24]

"For I have not spoken on my own authority, but the Father Who sent me gave me a command, what I should say and what I should speak." [John 12:49]

WILL

"Jesus said to them, 'My food is to do the will of Him Who sent me, and to accomplish His work.'" [John 4:34]
"For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of Him Who sent me." [John 6:38]

"...saying, 'Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from me; nevertheless not my will, but Yours, be done.'" [Luke 22:42]

POWER

"I can of myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and my judgment is righteous, because I do not seek my own will but the will of the Father Who sent me." [John 5:30]
"I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one Who sent him." [John 13:16]

"You heard me say, 'I am going away and I am coming back to you'. If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I" [John 14:28]

"Jesus said to them, 'If God were your Father, you would love me, for I proceeded and came forth from God; I came not of my own accord, but He sent me.'" [John 8:42]

"To sit at my right hand and at my left is not mine to grant, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared by my Father." [Matthew 20:23]

KNOWLEDGE

"But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." [Mark 13:32]
"But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but my Father only." [Matthew 24:36]

"So Jesus answered them, 'My teaching is not mine, but His Who sent me.'" [John 7:16]

STATUS

"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord', shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father in heaven." [Matthew 7:21]
"And the Father Himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His shape." [John 5:37]

"And Jesus said to him, 'Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone.'" [Mark 10:18]

"And I do not seek my own glory; there is One Who seeks and judges." [John 8:50]

Some Christians (though not all) claim that Jesus (p) implied that he was God from the above verses - we see clearly that Jesus (p) denied being God. The God of Abraham in the Old Testament stated "I am God" over 200 times, yet (oddly) Jesus (p) never uttered those three words once in the Gospel. So we see from the many verses above that the House did not belong to Jesus (p), it belonged to the One Who sent him.

Why do they care so much about what other people think? In everything they do it's all about impressing others. They should be more worried about impressing the Lord.

I have spent my life searching for a way to fullfill myself or just find out why the heck am I here. In college I played football, did the party thing. In the marine corps. I did lots of cool stuff even went to iraq and saw a glimpse of hell. I believe that most muslim extremests are so full of hate they are not even human. In law enforcement I have seen people destroy their lives for a moment of pleasure. In my opinion, there is nothing on earth that can fill that void for us. The need for God. I have studied many religions and religion is, what it is. An attempt by man to cover his sins through works that accomplish nothing in God's eyes. The only thing I have found that requires no special works or righteousness is to accept Jesus Christ's gift of salvation, it is free. I found we all love sin and that Christ frees us from it. No longer toss and turn in bed thinking about what will happen when I die. I am washed by the blood of Jesus. Whats your story of answer =life?

In the bible, it says "Of their flesh (of the swine) shall ye not eat, and their carcase ye shall not touch; they are unclean to you" LEVITICUS 11:8 - I've heard some people say "oh no - in the New Testament, Jesus says "it's not what you eat that makes you unclean...."

Did he tell them to hate the sin and love the sinner?

Did he tell them she would go to hell unless she repented her sin?

Did he tell them they were better people than her?

Or did he tell them, 'Let those who are without sin cast the first stone'?

Is there a lesson in there for all mankind?

I find that I have become disillusioned with Christianity...I do definitely believe in God, and I believe in what Jesus taught, but other than that I am not moved and I feel a good portion of things are way wrong (Feel as in, in my heart)...I've been to church it doesn't help, I read the bible it helps in the sense that it gives me hope thats it though. The only part of the bible that alters my perception is when Jesus spoke...other parts dont change my thinking.

I'm not looking for intense spiritual guidance or anything like that online so no lectures please...just wondering if anyone else went through this and what you did or if you found it again??

Also nothing triggered this for me (ie tragic event) it just faded over time.
