I guess you believe that all those people just died for nothing since there is no point to spreading the word of God. You people sicken me.

I'm familiar with the bible verses in which Jesus says that any man who divorces his wife, except in the case of adultery (fornication), causes them both to become adulterers if they marry again. (Matthew 5:31-32)

My question is, does the same law apply to women? Are women biblically able to ask for a divorce on the basis of adultery?

Obviously, this isn't written specifically in scripture, but I'm asking for the "general" christian interpretation of this. By the way, I'm not asking this in an attempt to point out the misogyny of the bible. I'm asking so I can have a better understanding on this subject so I can be a better help to a christian friend of mine who is married.

Sure both were born of a virgin impregnated by the holy ghost and their birth was signaled by a star in the east, which three wise men followed to his birth. Sure, both were crucified by the cross and then resurrected three days later. Sure both had 12 disciples and both went around walking on water and healing the sick.

But I think you guys are forgetting one thing... Horus wasn't a carpenter. How do you explain that!?

I am a very hard lined athiest but i have been wondering, what is the consequence in believing in god? If you are right, yay, if you are wrong there is no one and nothing to punish you. I don't see the harm. Is there any harm?

do you believe...
that Christ died for your sins?
that Jesus is God's ONLY son?
that God is supreme, all powerful, all knowing...there is only ONE God in entire universe, no others before Him, no others will come after Him?
the words of Jesus in the Bible are true and actual words of Christ?
the trinity is Father, Son and Holy Spirit...one in the same.
...this is what a Christian is.
Mormons, are you Christians?

I don't know anything about "born again" Christians. Can someone explain the process of being born again? Do they believe that only "Born Again" christians go to Heaven and if so does everyone else go to hell?

I've seen responses saying basically "I began studying, then doubting, then became a non-Christian". What I'd like to know is, while you were studying did you bother studying with a strong Christian who could answer your questions or did you just decide for yourself that Christianity was wrong? If the latter, is that really a valid method to make a determination?

For those that had the following type of experience:

" I went to church weekly, heard the hellfire and brimstone sermons, went to Sunday school and questioned questioned & again questioned. The questions weren't taken too kindly. I was told that I was just supposed to believe and have faith. I never did."

Did you bother to find someone who would answer your questions? Is it fair to just give up searching for answers?

Most answers I've seen seem to be of the type that the person just decided Christianity was wrong. I'm wondering why these people think that's a realistic method of determining truth?

By Christ I mean a verse in the Bible that generally would appear in red print indicating that is the words of Christ. Nothing from the Old Testament. That is not valid since Christs return negated the laws of the Old Testament which were in place for people to secure a place in heaven. So the OT won't cut it.

I'd really appreciate it if someone could give me the verse

I'm inclined to think that they are.

Recently, a group of Harvard University cardiologists conducted a ten year research project of 1803 heart patients and the found solid evidence that undermined the effectiveness of prayer. Their conclusion was simply that prayer didn't work. A New York Times news article of the of the study included statements like. "...patients who knew they were being prayed for had a higher rate of post-operative complications..." and, "Prayers offered by strangers had no effect on the recovery of people who were undergoing heart surgery..."

Of the millions who pray, will the weakest of believers in the power of prayer, and perhaps millions of them, be persuaded under the pressure of scientifically derived conclusions based on carefully collected data? Won't this cause more than s few people to question their faith in prayer?

Your comments and opinions are welcome, thanks.

I'm not a Christian but I know that it makes Christians angry when Mormons call themselves Christians. My mother is a Christian and she says that you can't be a Christian unless you follow the teachings of Jesus the Christ and follow the Ten Commandments (or to Mormons the Ten Suggestions).

Christians believe that you should only have sex within marriage to create children while Mormons believe that you can have sex with several women. Brigham Young carried on the foundation of Mormonism after the death of Joseph Smith. Even though it was against the law to commit bigamy Mr. Young defiled the laws of the land and the laws of God by committing adultery. Mormons often try to excuse his sinful behavior by saying that at least he took care of all his women. So some good behavior makes up for a lot of sinful behavior.

Now that is why Christians don't like Mormons pretending to be Protestant Christians.

he or she is killed, usually by a family member. MUSLIMS----how do you explain this? And how do you explain honor killings---killing a female family member for an inproper sexual affair, or even if she is raped. If you all keep claiming your religion is not evil like we think, how do you explain all this. And please--- no "Allah knows best" or death threats towards me. That only reinforces the view that I am trying to change.

I have suffered in one way or another all my life. I am 44 years old and have never known happiness for more than a few days at a time and then things always go from bad to worse. I tried to over come the longing for happiness with the joy of christ after I was saved but the longer I stayed around the church the worse that got. I no longer feel any joy inside, just empty and cold. I have ask god to send me spiritual leadership or someone to pray for me, (because I can not longer pray for my self ) or just enough hope to hang on. I get nothing, I feel nothing. I feel like this is the lfe God has given me and no matter what I do I was put on this earth to suffer. Should I stop asking and just suffer in silence?

Do you believe that everybody has an aura or an energy about them that you can recognize whether the person is here or not? Do you believe that a human can contact you or an aura from your future mate can comfort you in a non sexual manner thus giving you the feeling that you knew them before you met them?
Am I the only one experiencing this?
