There are way too many wrong things that people believe about us. If they would look into it, by going to places that are put out BY THE CHURCH, they would see that the things that are listed are wrong.

We know what we believe, and we are aware of what others think of us. So what? That doesn't change the way I believe. They can think what they want. If they are unwilling to check things out for themselves, and don't want to learn the truth, then that's their problem. All I can do is let someone know when they have it wrong, and try to change their minds. Most of the time it doesn't work, but sometimes it does. You never know when one statement about something will help someone else to know the truth, so keep at it!!!!

**EDIT***

Just wanted to say a few more things. The guy that said he doesn't know much about the church, thanks for being honest. It wasn't polygamy that split the church. Joseph Smith, along with his brother Hyrum, were killed by a mob that were allowed to kill them while they were in jail for an crime that was later found to be false. After his death, Brigham Young was called to be prophet. Some of Joseph's family thought that the line of succession should be in the family, not just another man, so they broke off of the main branch then. Polygamy wasn't started until later. Now, polygamy isn't followed by the main branch of the church. Only the wackos in the FLDS church still practice it. Even before the law was passed, the church stopped the practice.

Also, we do allow blood transfusions, it's the Jehovah Witnesses that don't. Now you know a little more then you did before!! Hope this helps you a little!!

From what I've seen independantly (spelling is bad, sorry) of the Mormonism, is that there are two versions. The first, and largest version, which most people know of, is a faith the was founded by Joseph smith in the 1800's as the next line in Christianity. Although, my knowledge as to the specifics of Joseph Smith and his revelation is lacking, ( I lack that knowledge). From what I remember, on pilgimage for a new home (utah) Brigham Young took over. And this is where the religion splits in my opinion, Brigham Young beleived in "Plural Marriage" and I am not sure if this falls in line with modern mormanism, but in order for Utah to become a state, polygamy had to be abolished and the Mormanism had to change then. That's as much as I know besides the actual spreading of faith like knocking on doors and such.

Besides those paticulars, Mormons are not allowed to consume alchol or smoke cigarettes. Also, Mormons are not allowed blood transfusions in cases of emergencies.

The Articles of Faith

And a certain glorified orthodox history that isn't reality. History never panned out the way Mormons say it did.

They also believe in there apologists, or "semi scientists", or people that are paid and under threat of excommunication to make the "science fit"

And prophets that have already admitted they don't see God or angels with there physical eyes, and go by the warm fuzzies, just like you and me.

And Mormons also believe and trust there warm fuzzy feelings.

I am a Bible believing Christian.

I'll admit that I don't know what Mormons believe.

But I have read the Mormon source documents written by Joseph Smith, just like I've read the entire Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church and the Bible in many translations.

I know for example that the Mormon church teaches that girls can't go to heaven unless they are married and their husband calls them out of the grave.

I know that if the Mormon church was honest about their beliefs such as that their god was once a man living on the planet Kolob, people would laugh and not take them serious.

So Mormons need to be gradually introduced to all this nonsense or else they would not believe it.

I wonder if you really know what the Mormons believe?

Just like I know that most Roman Catholics don't know what their church teaches.

I surmise you have been called by the Holy Priesthood of God and set apart to the position of Net 'Mishy' with all the blessings and ordinances required to carry out the Wonderful Plan of Salvation. Or are you taking on the priesthood authority which rightfully belongs to men? Has Salt Lake been informed? Your bishop?

You posted on a Sunday, when you should be reading the fictitious Book of Mormon and praying for the nice feeling you get being subjected to it's monotony interspersed with bloody wars as morality plays.

You sound sweet, but I fear you've crossed the line into self aggrandizement and fulfilling a fantasy of being sooo righteous. The rest of the world should be offended by your assumption. Thank god tomorrow night you'll play 'scripture chase' with the kiddies.

What are you, some online missionary? I live next door to mormons and my best friend is mormon. I took a comparative religions class and learned about the LDS religion (or cult). I know that you guys believe that when you die, you become gods and depending on how you've lived your life, you will go to one of the three kingdoms in heaven.

I think too much is known about Mormonism. If YOU don't know, it's because doctrines are hidden from you since they don't care about the rank and file.

First of all, lots of charlatans tried to add "books" to the Bible. Joseph Smith managed to succeed, but these books came out his ***.

It's doubtful any religion can be successfully formed once reading and writing were widespread, and so the roots of Mormonism are still known to us, inasmuch as the Mormons haven't been destroying their own historical documents.

Mormonism appeared unfavourably in the very first Sherlock Holmes story, "The Sign of the Four". Holmes does not visit the American West, but learns of the reminiscences of people caught in the terror of Mormonism, particularly the Guardian Angels corps.

Well, Mormons believe that Satan's polygamous father is their God. Are you happy with this identity?

Mormons are not in the Kingodm of Heaven because they reject the Word of God and the One True God.

The Deity of Man Promoted
Mormons teach that man can become God, and that God was once a man:
"God himself, the Father of us all, is a glorified, exalted immortal resurrected man!" (Bruce McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, pp. 322-23, 517, 643)
"...God himself was once as we are now and is an exalted man and sits enthroned in yonder heavens..." (Journal of Discourses, V6, P3, 1844)
"As man is, God once was: as God is, man may become." (Lorenzo Snow, quoted in Milton R. Hunter, the Gospel Through the Ages, pp. 105-106)
This is plain and simple heresy

Deity of Jesus Christ Denied
The Deity of Jesus Christ is a fundamental doctrine of Christianity, yet the Mormons deny this truth. Exalting man to "god status" is apparently alright, but Jesus Christ is not acknowledged as the eternal Son of God in the Mormon church. The Mormon jesus was a preexisting spirit who was exalted, just as Mormon followers hope to be exalted someday.
God is a Trinity (I Jn. 5:7), and the second Member of that Trinity is the Lord Jesus Christ. John 1:1 says that "the Word was God," and John 1:14 tells us that "the Word was made flesh." Jesus Christ is the Word incarnate, and John 1:1 tells us that the Word was God; so Jesus Christ is God.
Jesus allowed Thomas to address Him as "My Lord and my God" in John 20:28. In Isaiah 9:6, He is called "The mighty God" and "The everlasting Father," and we read in Micah 5:2 that Jesus is "from everlasting."
Our Lord allowed people to worship him in John 10:38 and in Matthew 14:33, and since He is "God with us" (Mat. 1:23) He also has power to forgive sins (Mk. 2:5). Jesus Christ is clearly Deity, yet this doctrine is denied by the Mormons

Mormon Writings Support Polygamy
"...if any man espouse a virgin, and desire to espouse another, and the first give her consent, and if he espouse the second, and they are virgins, and have vowed to no other man, then he is justified; he cannot commit adultery...And if he have ten virgins given unto him by this law, he cannot commit adultery." (Doctrines and Covenants, 132:61, 62)
Jesus Christ held a slightly different view (Mark 10:6- 9). There is no way a man can be "one flesh" with more than one woman. A man and his wife are supposed to picture Christ and his church (Eph. 5:23-32), but this symbolism is shattered by the Mormon heresy of Polygamy.

Salvation through Works
Mormons believe that one's salvation is based on such good works as baptism, good deeds, missionary work, and following Mormon teachings. In The Articles of Faith, by James Talmage, justification by faith in Jesus Christ is called a "pernicious doctrine" twice and he states that it has been "an influence for evil." (pp. 107, 480) Bruce McConkie once stated at Brigham Young University that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is "improper and perilous" (Church News, March 20, 1982, p. 5)
