I guess you believe that all those people just died for nothing since there is no point to spreading the word of God. You people sicken me.

"Condemn?" Do atheists go around claiming, "If you believe in god, you'll go to hell?" I think not. Seems to be the believers that are "condemning," not atheists. You are also sadly ignorant about science. There is a great deal of evidence (much of it "observable") for both the "big bang" and the Oort cloud. Those aren't a matter of "belief," they're conclusions based on available evidence. They're also not held out as "dogmatic," but simply as the best conclusions possible based on the evidence, subject to change if new/better evidence becomes available. They're also not tied to any reward or punishment, as the claims about "gods" are -- nobody goes around saying that if you don't "believe" in the Oort cloud, you're going to hell. It *is* "ridiculous" that you embrace beliefs in claimed gods for which there is no evidence of any kind. That's not condemnation, it's simply a fact: belief in claimed gods when there is no evidence of any kind to show them real is irrational. You can still believe if you want to, but that doesn't change the fact that such beliefs are irrational and unsupportable by evidence. You appear to need a great deal of education. Life is short, I suggest you get started. Peace.

Hey...we're not the ones who were doing the killing. All those people that were "spreading the word of God" during the crusades were also torturing, raping, pillaging, and killing. You think that they were pretty little innocent preachers just knocking on doors to evangelize? Do some research on the crusades.

All those people died for nothing. I don't have to "justify" the crusades, but they do serve as a shinning example of what happens when religion takes over everything, including the government.

From my point of view they certainly did die for nothing. I didn't send them off crusading. Had they asked me before they left, I would have informed them that their efforts were in vain since their god was non-existent. I close now trusting that you are not violently ill due to my efforts to be up front with you.

Super A I think I just shot your apology on my behalf in the a ss. So sorry.

Crusades? Is that when armies sponsored by a version of christianity travelled the world inflicting genocide on people who had a different opinion who were actually living quite peacefully in their own land. Funny though, when the little Austrian with the dodgy moustache did it, he was the devil reincarnate.

I don't justify the Crusades. It was wrong on many levels. The christians of Europe went in and attacked people of different beliefs and used their deity and their religion as justification. The people of the past justified it, I don't have to.

I'm a pacifist I don't agree that violence solves your problems.

Talk about sick. This is a silly little post from someone who obviously has no idea what the crusades were about. You probably think that the crusades were about spreading religion.

We DON'T justify them. We agree that it was a whole lot of senseless killing. Have you forgotten the commandment, "Thou Shalt Not Kill," you hypocrite?

And yet, you claim that YOU'RE sickened. Take a look in the mirror. Look at what you're condoning--murder in the name of religious beliefs. If you were raised Muslim, you'd be celebrating on 9/11/2001. YOU are the one who is sickening.

I think it was the Crusaders who were doing all the killing; the atheists weren't.
