Did he tell them to hate the sin and love the sinner?

Did he tell them she would go to hell unless she repented her sin?

Did he tell them they were better people than her?

Or did he tell them, 'Let those who are without sin cast the first stone'?

Is there a lesson in there for all mankind?

Excellent question. The latter, of course. Sometimes the people who shout the loudest have the most to hide - televangelists are a good example.

He who is without sin cast the first stone. I'm an atheist and I know that one.

However, I disagree with the sentiment and judge people and things all the time. I'm an Objectivist, though; it's part of and encouraged by our worldview. The difference is that Christians are specifically prohibited from acting in such a manner and violate the teachings of Christ when they do, yet seem to be so good at it.

They were trying to play a trick on Jesus.

If he allowed the execution it would go against some of his principles, if he opposed the execution than he would be in contempt of the law.

So Jesus cleverly answered "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her." And then after they all left he forgave the woman and told her to “go, and sin no more”

The moral of the story is don’t judge others, and forgive others, because were all full of sin and need others to forgive us. (And as a side lesson don’t commit adultery)

He said that you that is without sin let him cast the first stone. It shows how can sinners judge a sinner, we were all born into sin so we should not be judges of each other.

He said, "Let those who are without sin cast the first stone. And if none have sinned, then we can all get stoned."

Kidding. I am just joking because I agree with you.
