Because despite writing fiction, Chuck Pahlaniuk's works are far more believable.
The Bible sounds like it was written by a bunch of men who got together and smoked a few bowls.
Chuck Pahlaniuk > Bible.

I'm a Christian, and a Palahniuk fan. He's one of my favorite authors. However, I don't turn to him for religious guidance. I prefer to read many different types of literature, not just one, and the Bible has its place. Also, consider the time difference between the production of the manuscripts, which would certainly explain stylistic differences.

because he writes with feeling. because he examines the state of humanity and translates that into kick-**** stories. because we know to take it figuratively. because he doesn't tell us we're going to hell.
ooh, and because he is GREAT at satire. just the right amount of subtlely to make you go "oooooh, that's nice"
