Isn't goodness its own reward?

Or do you require the threat of punishment or the hope of reward to keep you from being bad? What about doing good purely for the sake of doing good? I
Who is the most moral-the person who is good out of fear or the person who is good for goodness' sake?

People should be good because it is the human thing to do. Not for some kind of reward, though being able to look in the mirror and rest well at night are a reward in their own right.

It depends on the person...
Some do good things because of fear... ie: God will punish me if I do bad things. Some people get a good feeling about themselves by doing good... it's more altruistic. Some people wouldn't do the right thing no matter what the reward or punishment. They suck.

i don't know about you but i do good out of my heart not for a reward or the threat of punishment. if you continue to think there is a such thing called "good for goodness sake" you are missing the boat. be good for Christ's sake he suffered and died for each one of us so we could have etrnal life.

No one is good for goodness sake. You do good to receive a reward, othrwise we would have total chaos. Name one thing that a person does that is good without expecting some kind of reward or recognition.
