It'a the most definitive message of the Book of Mormon: The good Nephites (white and pure) 'prosper and grow rich upon the land', and the members draw the conclusion that if you're rich or at least appear wealthy, god is rewarding you. Otherwise your unrighteousness is rewarded by a meager but christlike, lifstyle. I've never seen so many Hummers parked in one spot than an LDS Chapel on Sundays.

I think that is just people in general. I am not a Mormon by the way...but people are always wanting the newer car, the bigger house, the fancy shoes and clothes...why because we are worried what others think..otherwise we would drive old cars and live in shacks and be perfectly happy. We should all be worried more about pleasing the Lord..I doubt much can impress him since he created it all =)

One of the big things there religion revolves around is missionary work. Like a salesman that puts on a big grin and a show, it is the same with the Mormons.
While they are usually cautious around non Mormons (potential converts) you have to realize its not always an act. High standards and smiley faces are just apart of there culture.
So in short: there church teaches to live by high standards, and being a missionary church, they try extra hard to look good in front of others.

They have many secrets to keep that is why they "worry so much about impressing others." In a word PRIDE...
Why is the Mormon's Endowment Ceremony a copy of the Freemason initiation ritual?
Why the burial ritual with an apron just like the masons? Why did false prophet Joseph Smith just steal the rituals he learned in the masonic lodge and create a false religion?
Why is it called The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints why not a Freemasonic Lodge or The Temple of Hiram Abiff of Scottish Rite Freemasonry (Wouldn't that be more correct?)
Why is it Joseph Smith and Brigham Young were both Freemasons and the Mormon religion is Freemasonry thinly veiled as Christianity?
Use a search engine and ask your self about the compass, square, aprons, hand grips, rituals from god or masons?

It seems to me we should try to be the best example of a follower of Christ possible. Where you get into trouble is if you're only trying to look like a Christian while your heart is elsewhere. I know many Mormons who I have no doubt are Christian to the core.
Mathew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

I think that some Mormons are sensitive about their religion because many people do not understand, so their eagerness to explain/evangelize may come off as trying to impress.

Mormonism, aka God's true kingdom, downs so many meds and makes so many supplements that Omenosis is the least of worries for them.
