Ok, there's Cameron Diaz, I agree with that one. But still.

My girlfriend broke up with me this week, she's a Christian, which leaves me to the question: Why on earth did God create women? What is the point of those creatures?

First, I'm not trying to convert anyone, or change anyone's mind, but I'm curious as to how many people on Yahoo! Answers actually know what they're talking about. (No, Bible Classes on Sundays do not count.)

I'm an Atheist but I attend a Catholic school for the education, and part of my required education is a year of Religious / Christian studies. I have nothing wrong about learning it, it's just when people in my class start to have fits about Jesus does it get a little weird, and annoying.

I suppose my point is this; So many people ask questions like, 'How do you know God is male?', 'Adam and Eve were white?' etc, etc, and I have to wonder, how many Atheists / Agnostics / Theists have actually picked up a bible, religious work, or a biography of Darwin to learn what their counterparts are talking about? Or are the majority of the people here trying to argue against another persons' ideas in which they've never researched or try to understand?

I am sick and tired of athiests and liberals who reject jesus, and insist they have a right to practice paganism and hedonism.
You WILL worship Jesus.
We need to give muslims a choice- worship jesus, or be wiped out..
Sorry, desepraste times call for despreate measures- we must protect the word of Jesus by foercing non beleivers to accept him....
I once beat an athiest bloody and wouldnt stop until he accepted jesus- this may be the only way to handle non believers.
You WILL worship Jesus....
Isnt it high timne liberal scum be told to bow before god jesus?

I recently saw a post from another that said very few churches welcome unrepentant homosexuals into the life of their church.

Actually, I know of several that no longer look at homosexuality as a sin:

United Church of Christ
Episcopals
Some Presbyterians
Unitarian Church
Methodists
Some Independent Baptists
In addition to the Metropolitan Community Church, which is a predominantly gay denomination.

Many scholars are reading the original texts of the Bible..and coming to different conclusions on homosexuality...Remember the word homosexual wasn't even part of our vernacular until 1865.

Any other churches that you are aware of that welcome homosexuals into the full life of the church.

And please don't post hateful responses...and no need for scriptures...I have read the Bible through twice, and know the scriptures well.

This happens in a recent question that I answered . They said the Bible is nonsense but that they believe in god . Isn't that sort of like saying they believe in sandwiches but not bread ?

Whether or not you are are actually affiliated with a church or practicing in that sense - how many persons who accept the divinity of Christ but reject the Old Testament? I'm asking for any; I don't need people telling me "then they wouldn't be a Christian". I already know that's the doctrine. i just want to know if anyone on r&s accepts the NT but not the OT.

New verson:-"why do you need so many god and goddess.? i can not under stand hinduism."

Yes -you have agreed you can not Hinduism--it is a"Mis-information" that Hinduism has so many Gods and godesses, which is deliberatelybeing spresd.Hinduism says there is ONE and Only God and there is no second one."Ekaiva Brahmam Satyam-Param Naasthi" depending on what kind of benevolence He gives, they call Him by different names---creator=Brahma---savior=Vishnu---benevolent=Siva---Different attributes are not different Gods

God made Adam in his image but God is a spirit nether man nor woman. Maybe we have it all wrong and God created Eve first in her image. And maybe he did not send down his son but sent down her daughter. But that would imply that Jesus did not exist. Christianity is so confusing maybe I'll join the other side.

When Charles Darwin advanced his theory, which was to be named "The Theory of Evolution" later on, disciplines like genetics and microbiology did not yet exist. Darwin was unaware of the structure of the DNA, proteins, and the cell. The scientists of the time were putting forward ridiculous theses about living things due to the insufficient level of science. For example, they supposed that worms appearing on meat were showing up all of a sudden without any origin. It was to be later discovered that these worms came out of the eggs laid by flies. Life was not so simple as to come about all of a sudden.

"This was the prevailing understanding of science at the time Darwin wrote his book The Origin of Species. The primitive theories of Lamarck were still welcomed: it was believed that acquired traits could be transferred to
later generations. Lamarck used this theory also to explain the long necks of giraffes: However, Mendel’s studies made it clear that acquired traits cannot be transferred to next generations.

Living things could transfer only their genes, not their elongated necks to subsequent generations… Thus both Lamarck's and Darwin's basic assertions were demolished by the end of the 19th century.

According to Lamarck, giraffes were once antelope-like animals and their necks were extended over time as a result of their attempt to reach higher tree branches
