Please share to me, How people in your country pay their Zakat?

Do they gave zakat to the muzaki directly, or by baitul maal?

do they give the zakat to the mustahiq directly or by baitul maal

Ideally the zakat should be paid first to your needy relatives then your neighbour and then to other members of the society. Generally because there are no organized baitul maal the people tend to give the zakat to the first person who approaches them, without verifying the credentials of the mustahiq. People consider zakat as a burden which should be shed away as soon as possible. In the process the real needy are deprived, the very purpose of zakat is defeated. Most of the time the zakat is taken away by the professional beggars.
Best way, I believe, is that every city should have is own organized baitul maal which should have the data of the needy people of the society. Because of different schools of thought that we have in Islam, it is quite possible that we may have more then one baitul maal. Which will still be not harmful to the cause if instead of they being contemporaries, they should compliment each other. It is huge task to but it can be done. And insha Allah we will have no poverty amongst the Muslim ummah. May Allah guide us all to the right path. Ameen.

We give it to the Mosque directly. My father gives Zakat each Friday at Salatul Jum'ah alhamdulillah.

Like Terry G said, in Morocco it can be paid directly to those in need or given to charities such as orphanages (which utilize it directly, as very few bother with things like printed literature)
