RIF_ Are you playing dumb again? What does the Empire State building have to do with a religious building? The question is reffering to god controlling the weather and hitting his house of worship. A fact you are fully aware of. Instead of pretending you cannot read, why not answer the question?

Faith has nothing to do with it. We still live in the physical world and as such we are bound by the laws of the physical realm....such as if lightning strikes a building, it needs to have a lightning rod to direct the strike to the ground and thereby leaving the church unharmed. The same applies to the locks on the church doors....this only started because people had the balls to steal from a church! When I was a kid, you literally could go to church to pray at any time of the day. Not any more thanks to thieves.

God is a just God. Within the walls of a building that is set aside for worshiping God are sinners and Saints (believers and non-believers). If He desires to destroy a building use as a church he will just like he will destroy your house with the blink of an eye. The wages of sin is death regardless of who it is; but, the gift of God is eternal life. The joy about dying is dying in the Lord. Woe unto you who die without the Lord!

As Jesus noted, it is also written that you shall not tempt the Lord your God, nor put him to the test (Matthew 4:7; Luke 4:12). You seem to be repeating, more or less, the very taunt that Satan threw at Jesus in the wilderness.

I suppose that god refuses to protect you from things that you could just as easily protect yourself from. God does not like lazy people.

You might as well ask, why does a Christian save money? Won't God provide for all of his monetary needs? Or why not just jump into the lion cage at the zoo, or why not handle snakes? I think that we know the answer to that one already.

For the same reason lightning rods are atop many tall buildings, especially in rural areas. Barns, Town Halls, big old farmhouses. ...
...to deflect the damaging effects of fires starting by lightning bolts.

Really good question.

If a church got hit by lightning, that would be god saying something wouldn't it? I suppose they wouldn't want to deal with the shame of god wanting to destroy their place of worship because hes cross with them

Ask me after mass where we talk about Jesus driving the merchants out of the temple, then we have the weekly Bingo game afterwards.

They are hedging their bets. I guess they have figured out that God might get annoyed with all the gay bashing and bigotry, so they keep the lightning rod as an insurance policy.

why is this question so popular to ask? God expects us to use common sense. The same reason I don't cross the street without looking first.

They're on top of the Empire State building, too. What's your point this time around? Oh, I see. You already tried to make it.

Your ongoing idiocy is truly entertaining. Who types this stuff for you? Homer Simpson??
