Can people that believe in evolution acknowledge that there may be a higher power that had some input into the creation of the earth?

Can fundamentalists acknowledge that parts of the Bible may not be intended to be interpretted literally and maybe other things transpired that created our world.

I, personally believe that, we as Christians often "put God in a box" and in our minds, limit what he may or may not have done entirely on the Bible.

The Bible is not an exhaustive narrative of the complete life of Jesus Christ...there are things that he said and did in his 30+ years that obviously did not make it into the Bible.

God transcends us and our knowledge...and, I believe, God transcends the Bible.

I acknowledge that maybe we did evolve...or even possibly, two rocks collided together...

But, for my finite mind to comprehend, I also believe that something much greater than us had to create those rocks or species...something that is the alpha and the omega.

I mean, REALLY? Did you ever get burned? How does that feel?! Try putting a burning match just below your finger and hold it for 3 seconds.....

Now STOP! THINK!
IMAGINE the indescribable agony and pain that a person would feel when his whole flesh burns FOREVER!!!

And how is even a lifetime of continuous heavy sin justify an eternity of being burned?! How is that just...how is that merciful...is this what you call LOVE??

Note: I am Christian myself; I just don't believe in the pagan unprovable and sometimes even SADIST doctrines of the mainstream 'Christianity'...

This is what I got from Diana:'

Subject: "judgmental garbage"

Message: I'm sorry you think God's Word is "judgmental garbage". I hope you change your mind before Judgment Day.

But she didn't bother to tell me what post she was referring to. She also does not allow emails. I cannot respond to her. So here is my question: Is that a chickenpoop move, or WHAT?

Atheist think Christians only read parts of the Bible their Pastor/preacher says is ok,,and we only believe what our pastor/preacher says is true.
1>I have a mind of my own, I read what and when I want.
2>I do not attent church anymore, so there is no Pastor/preacher to tell me what to do, or believe.
3>I have not now or ever had anyone tell me to be afraid of death or dying,,or I should be
4>Nor was I told the Bible tales as fairey tales
5>I believe all Christians have BRAINS of their own and can make their own decisions based on their own thoughts. I KNOW I DO, AND HAVE MADE THE DECISION TO BE A CHRISTIAN BASED ON WHAT I HAVE READ AND HEARD.

What's true is that people who are most critical of evolutionary science have never studied it.

Evolutionists are masters at covering the flaws and weaknesses oftheir theory.

Here just a few question they will ALWAYS dodge!

Where did the space for the universe come from?

2. Where did matter come from?

3. Where did the laws of the universe come from (gravity, inertia, etc.)?

4. How did matter get so perfectly organized?

5. Where did the energy come from to do all the organizing?

6. When, where, why, and how did life come from dead matter?

7. When, where, why, and how did life learn to reproduce itself?

8. With what did the first cell capable of sexual reproduction reproduce?

9. Why would any plant or animal want to reproduce more of its kind since this would only make more mouths to feed and decrease the chances of survival? (Does the individual have a drive to survive, or the species? How do you explain this?)

Why do they avoid these question,& by FAITH believe it

I always here people arguing about the validity of the belief in God, but even if you accept God why would you accept the Bible? What indications or evidence exist to support the Bible?

Just on the off chance that there might be a mormon here that supports polygamy...

I was wondering if mormons that want polygamy to be legalized wanted it only to be legal for a man to have multiple wives, or would they also support it being legal for a woman to have multiple husbands?

Do you believe that it would be wrong for a woman to have multiple husbands, and do you think that should be against the law?

Also, should it be legal for bi-sexual people to have multiple husbands and wives? Or would you want that to be illegal?

For instance I've seen alot of angry people on this site who are homosexual and are angry because the bible says homosexuality is a sin. I mean what the bible says isn't going to change just because your offended. I would just like to remind people that we are all human, we all sin, and we all have our weaknesses. We all have demons we have to battle. GOD told us all that no man is to change the bible or he would be doomed to eternal damnation. I can't stress the point any further that it is your choice but please don't get mad at us for telling you what the bible really says, because I for one am not going to change the truth to please you.. We are only relaying the words of GOD.

my mum still believes i am a catholic, as i was baptised as such, but i need some official paperwork to prove i am now no longer a catholic, as i cannot believe in a religion that claims to love everyone, but shuns gay people such as myself.

thank you for you help,

I try to have patience, but I live in tears and sorrow. I try to follow the commands but sometimes this just leads to more difficulties, and sometimes I find they have been perverted by my blind want. I need a lot of grace today.

Ok, so people believe that homosexuality is a "choice" and it is a sin to be gay. Well, did you ever wonder about hermaphrodites? They don't "choose" to be born of two genders, they are born that way. So are hermaphrodites sinning because they are having sex with people that have the same sex organs as them? God made them that way and he made gay people the way they are. What is the difference? If a hermaphrodite has a vagina, but don't have any other woman parts and ejaculates and sleeps with women, then is this a sin? If not, then I would like to know the difference of why it isn't a sin!

Christians finally make a correct statement regarding evolution, but the author of this particular bumper sticker was so misguided he believed he was protesting evolution.

I've seen similar ones that say "Man did not evolve from gorillas", which is also an unintentionally true statement.

I think it quite fitting that those of us on R&S take a moment to pay tribute to our dear friend, Squirrel. Please take a moment to stop and pay tribute, and please give your favourite quotes from the book of Squirrel.

And, Squirrel, if you happen to be up there watching, know that your friends have gathered in your honour this day.

Why do I feel like a spiritual bastard?

He loves me but allows me to suffer. Why?
If his love is unconditional why are there so many "conditions"?

What kind of father has he been to you?
