You caught me in a good mood, so you will get an honest answer about love.
I miss holding hands and hearing softly spoken words. I liked being showered with kisses and knowing that I was adored. I enjoyed communication with no words. Someone knowing what I was thinking and understanding that I didn't feel like talking right then.
The truth is I am ready to share those things again with someone new. I will settle for nothing less.
"Anything less than mad, passionate, extraordinary love is a waste of time. There are too many mediocre things in life, and love should not be one of them."

Corinthians 13:4-13 : "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

"Love" is a suitcase word--it is used to describe lots of different things, from loyalty to a family or clan to eroticism to mating to protection of family to enjoyment of a book or movie.
And more. It has no single definition, and it's *certainly* not an object to be discovered. "Finding true love" is a myth, if an interesting one.

It's not possible to define love within the confines of this medium. Love has so many facets and variations that you can not possibly define all of them.

1 John 3:16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue, but with actions and in truth.

wanting the other person to have the "biggest piece of pie"
Basically, wanting from the bottom of your heart for the one you love to have the best...before you.
