Hello and that bible was written over a 1500 period of time by 44 authors and yet it does not disagree with itself, also it has 30% of it as prophecy, changed lives, and Archeological proof, and the best proof i myself offer is this i would have been dead a "long time ago" had not Jesus Christ stepped into my life via The Holy Bible, God bless.

Use M-A-P-S to guide you through Biblical reliability:
Manuscripts, Archaeology, Prophecy, Statistics
Manuscripts relates to the tests used to determine the reliability of the extant manuscript copies of the original documents penned by the Scripture writers (we do not possess these originals). In determining manuscript reliability, we deal with the question: How can we test to see that the text we possess in the manuscript copies is an accurate rendition of the original? There are three main manuscript tests: the Bibliographic, Eyewitness, and External (a second acronym - BEE - will help you remember these).
The bibliographic test considers the quantity of manuscripts and manuscript fragments, and also the time span between the original documents and our earliest copies. The more copies, the better able we are to work back to the original. The closer the time span between the copies and the original, the less likely it is that serious textual error would creep in. The Bible has stronger bibliographic support than any classical literature - including Homer, Tacitus, Pliny, and Aristotle.
We have more than 14,000 manuscripts and fragments of the Old Testament of three main types: (a) approximately 10,000 from the Cairo Geniza (storeroom) find of 1897, dating back as far as about AD. 800; (b) about 190 from the Dead Sea Scrolls find of 1947-1955, the oldest dating back to 250-200 B.C.; and (c) at least 4,314 assorted other copies. The short time between the original Old Testament manuscripts (completed around 400 B.C.) and the first extensive copies (about 250 B.C.) - coupled with the more than 14,000 copies that have been discovered - ensures the trustworthiness of the Old Testament text. The earliest quoted verses (Num. 6:24-26) date from 800-700 B.C.
The same is true of the New Testament text. The abundance of textual witnesses is amazing. We possess over 5,300 manuscripts or portions of the (Greek) New Testament - almost 800 copied before A.D. 1000. The time between the original composition and our earliest copies is an unbelievably short 60 years or so. The overwhelming bibliographic reliability of the Bible is clearly evident.

If there was even a scrap of credible evidence that the bible was even remotely related to any kind of god, there wouldn't be any non-believers on the planet.
That evidence would be the basis for every branch of science in the world. It would not be the antithesis, which it is today.
Edit - for those saying that the bible mentions cities that actually existed and such... Can you not understand that that has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH IT BEING THE WORD OF A GOD? Harry Potter books mention England. Does that make Harry Potter a real person? Does that make Hogwarts a real school? It's in England, right?!!
Come on people. Get a grip on reality! Ahhhhgggg!!
Or here's another for you. Ancient Greek mythology mentions real places in Greece. Does that prove it's the word of Zeus? What are you gonna do if they discover Atlantis? Are you going to start worshipping Poseidon?
Hopefully you can understand that your "proof" is not anywhere near it.

Well there are two main parts.
1) I got a list of 270 contradictions in the New Testament alone and went through every single one of them. I only thought one of them was a real contradiction but then another Christian brought up something so obvious I couldn't believe I thought it was a contradiction.... it was obviously not. 270 purported contradictions and none of them were valid. All of them were merely twisted to make it sound like a contradiction out of context.
2) I learned Greek to see if the Bible was translated wrong, and I not only realized it was translated okay but even more that the Greek meaning is far more sacred than the English translation..... In other words as I read the Greek it was like I knew exactly where the author was coming from, what his personality was, how well-versed he was, whether he preferred poetical writing or merely fact/quote one upon another.

Read the Bible and see for yourself what God says. Try reading Romans 1:18-23, where it talks about things that all men can see that point to God.
Let me give you a bit of background: There are three major religions that believe in one God (religions that believe in multiple strange gods don't make a lot of sense to me). We have Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. All these religions accept the Old Testament as at least mostly accurate, Christianity and Islam accept the New Testament (Islam accepts it as partially accurate, that is), and Islam alone accepts the Koran. Try reading these scriptures and ask God to show you the truth in His Word.
Notice that the Old Testament, which is accepted by all three religions, predicts the New Testament (with the coming of the Messiah) hundreds of times. The Koran is never predicted anywhere.
I can personally base my beliefs on my experiences as well. I have seen the truths of the Bible demonstrated time and time again in my life, and I have even seen prophecy fulfilled and miracles granted.
If you have any other questions at all, please, please, email me: I would love to answer them for you. If you could find someone you know with a strong Christian faith to talk to, I am sure they would love to talk with you as well.
May you find the love of Christ.

The bible is a collection of writings by different authors. There were many writings and each had to pass 7 tests to be included in the bible. I don't know what those tests were but I'm sure one of them was authenticity. One such proof that supports the authenticity of the bible is that many people and cities mentioned in the bible that were thought not to exist by sceptics were later found. For instance sceptics denied the existence of King Sargon mentioned in the old testament, but low and behold, they found his throne with his name inscribed on it. Another proof was the discovery of the dead sea scrolls. I believe the bible is the work of God and man and the more generations pass, the more it is proven.

The Bible is a collection of 66 books written by 45 different authors, most of whom never even met each other, over a period of 1500 years, and yet it is all one cohesive unit. None of the authors contradict each other; in fact, books written earlier contain clues to decipher books written in later times. When you study the Bible in depth, you will find layers upon layers of deeper meaning that all interconnect with each other. Such a feat is impossible for a single man, or even for a group of men living at the same time. This very multi-source nature of the Bible is evidence that it is written by a Divine Editor. No other holy book on Earth can make such a claim. The others are all written by a single man claiming divine inspiration, but their teachings are not consistent, and none of them provide a means of salvation from sins. Their common goal is to help man feel comfortable in his sins and make him feel as if he is god, which is the primary goal of Satan on this Earth.
Another source of evidence is archaeology (as well as all the other true sciences). Archaeology shows us that the Earth is young and that there was a worldwide flood approximately 4400 years ago that decimated the Earth and buried the dinosaurs. It supports a literal translation of the Bible. Biblical archaeology also uncovers Biblical events as being true, such as the discovery of Sodom and Gomorrah and their charred remains, as well as remains of Egyptian chariots at the bottom of the Red Sea; the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls and their corroboration of OT scripture, showing that the Bible hasn't changed much in thousands of years.
Another point of evidence is prophecy. 99.9% of Bible prophecy has already been fulfilled; and this is not by someone who lived recently who saw current events as they were happening - this is by someone who lived over 2500 years ago and had no idea what was in store for the future except it was revealed to him by an angel.
Another point is in the department of modern medicine. Many of the basic medical practices we use today came from the Bible. The Bible contained instructions for handling disease and quarantine, plants and animals that were healthy to eat (as well as those which are unhealthy to eat), and today modern science is corroborating this totally sound health advice that comes from the Bible. During the Dark Ages, when it was illegal (upon pain of death) to own a Bible or read one, the Black Plague fell upon Europe because the health advice in the Bible was neglected. Only after the Renaissance (when the common people finally re-discovered the Bible) was the Black Plague swept away and many advances in science arrived.
Also, many of the social plagues that affect us today did not affect the society of 200 years ago, because the culture was more biblical and God-fearing. Obeying the 10 Commandments ensured peace and happiness. Today, God and His Commandments have been usurped by atheism and pseudoscience, and morality has become relative. As a result, our culture has suffered greatly in the last 50 years.
There are about 8 other evidences that show why the Bible is the inspired, inerrant word of God, but I don't have that list here. I see the Bible as several things - a book of Earth and human history, an owner's manual for the human body, a book that tells us the future, a book for how to behave so that one can find happiness and peace, and a book of love and salvation.

Most of the previous ansewerers wouldn't believe anything about the Bible no matter how well it has been proven. The most believable (for non-believers) evidence is the archological evidence. People have actually discovered "unknown" cities, fortresses, etc. that were written about only in the Bible.

Dr. W. Graham Scroggie of the MOODY BIBLE INSTITUTE, Chicago, one of the most prestigious Christian Evangelical Mission in the world, answering the question — "Is the Bible the Word of God?" (also the title of his book), under the heading: IT IS HUMAN, YET DIVINE. He says on page 17:
"Yes, the Bible is human, though some, out of zeal which is not according to knowledge, 1 have denied this. Those books2 have passed through the minds of men, are written in the language of men, were penned by the hands of men, and bear in their style the characteristics of men." (Emphasis added).
Another erudite Christian scholar, Kenneth Cragg, the Anglican Bishop of Jerusalem, says on page 277 of his book, "The Call of the Minaret":
"Not so the New Testament3 . . . There is condensation and editing; 4 there is choice, reproduction and witness. The Gospels have come through the mind of the Church behind the authors. They represent experience and history." 5
If words have any meaning, do we need to add another word of comment to prove our case? No! But the professional propagandists, after letting the cat out of the bag, still have the face to try to make their readers believe that they have proved beyond the shadow of any doubt that the Bible is the "irrefragable 6 Word of God." Their semantic gymnastics — equivocating, and playing with words — is amazing!
Both these Doctors of Religion are telling us in the clearest language humanly possible that the Bible is the handiwork of man, all the while pretending that the are proving to the contrary.
