How about..."Thou shall not steal", or "Honor thy mother and father"...""don't bear false witness(gossip included)"..."do not covet(and be a slave to gross consumerism)"...

And we hear from so MUCH of America that these are "religious" fanatical, nutcase values...

The X-mas parade in Los Angeles was axed after some 40 years, but we recently had our annual 'Gay-Pride' parade...

Not a single entity can survive when it abandons the principals on which it was founded.

So back to my original question?

A better example would be...you are my mom, and your daughter and grandchildren are in hell.

Which is it?

- God makes heaven in such a way that you don't remember me and the grandkids. Therefore you don't wonder where we are and are blissfully ignorant of our eternal torment. He indulges in a little godly brainwashing to keep you from knowing the truth.

or

- God lets you keep your earthly memories and you know the truth of our torment. But God creates heaven in such a way that somehow knowing your loved one is in torment doesn't impact your happy mood. Kind of like knowing 9/11 is happening every morning when you wake up, and your family is in the Twin Towers, but you're not bothered by it.

Is there a third option I've missed other than the "Get Out of Jail Free" card where you say "God works in mysterious ways"?

"US researchers have for the first time injected human stem cells into monkeys with Parkinson's symptoms, seen as a key step in the fight to find a cure. The stem cells, which have been injected into rodents in the past, initially stopped the monkeys' damaged brain cells from deteriorating." --BBC news

Why do you think the Bible is infallible when there is so much evidence to say that it is not infallible.

I was just wondering is it wrong or rather a sin to be comfortable with your own sexuality....

Does anyone else get freaked out when someone says, I will pray for your soul or You should be thanking God? Would doing away with all religions help cure the world of its problems? Would a one world religion stop the insanity, abuse, and intolerance that many religions seem to inspire?

Being a Christian starts with being born again of the Spirit of God who gives a new way of looking at life. It has been so incredible the difference of my life before August 21, 1989 and my life after August 21,1989.
I gave my heart to Jesus that evening and WOW what a change. I felt the Spirit of God enter my body the next day when I opened up the bible like I promised God I would and when I read the words, "In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the Word was God." I literally felt God enter from my head to my toes and it was incredible.
Does your God let you know he is real? What joy. Thank you Jesus.

I want to know what you think the actual "God" is? Most of the so called "religious" crap/BS stuff I hear and read is so mixed up and twisted. I feel that there is "something" BIG to all this. Can some intelligent person "enlighten us"?

This may be too long but i just need to know what ya'll think. The thing is,i have a stuttering problem since childhood. And im praying day and night(crying out to god)asking him to heal this stuttering problem of mine,to have mercy on me and i have total faith in him that he will answer my prayers.Soon in my school im going to have a speech class that everyone is suppose to have in order to graduate. And im soo scared cuz i dont know how i will be able to talk in front of public since i get nervous really fast.Let me tell ya'll,once this paster came to my house and suprisingly he knew EVERYTHING ABOUT ME.He knew i stutter,he knew about my life, and more.So he asked me to read the bible. After that he held me and told me that"i know everything about you"and he told me too.I was shocked and asked him how he knew so much about me,and he told me that its these spiritual feelings he had.So i know since that day that my god is watching me.But will god answer my prayers?will he have mercy on me??

Did Adam & Eve Exist Before Dinosaurs or were Dinosaurs hanging out with them?

Remember God antecedes man made religions. Man will always have his imperfections. Not God! He came first, man came next at the hand of the creator. Man is debased in nature and will never ever fully represent God as he should to a secular humanistic society. Man is imperfect and immoral, corrupt, and also power hungry. God sent his son(Jesus) to restore fallen man and reconcile fallen man to his creator.

Why do Atheists judge a wise and loving creator who created all things through the eyes and mores of imperfect systems of worship that try their best to point man to his maker? John 3:16.

Why judge God so harsely due to the failures of religion? Why do you choose to be antagonistic toward God?
Why do you choose separation from God rather than communion with him.

God loves you and cares for you deeply. I know with my whole heart without a shadow of doubt that God exists and he cares deeply for each of you. He desires to give you hope and an eternal future with him.

Most of you who frequent R&S know that my answers are usually harmless wisecracks, or genuine answers aimed at answering someone's question--or occasionally refuting some clown's hate-spewing drivel (in other words, my answers are more or less in keeping with most other intelligent R&S-addicts' answering habits).

That said--has anyone else every received emails like these from someone like this? My guess is, this guy is probably ten or eleven and is sneaking onto his mommy's computer to try and pick childish fights with actual adults. Read on, and tell me what you think:

Why are there "Unwanted Babies"?
Isn't sex saying you're hot, you'd make good babies, and I trust you (enough to be a parent & love me) ... so, why is 'trust' missing from "Sex" in our culture?

Some Christians have said here that they don't feel bad for people in Hell, because they supposedly choose to burn for being the wrong religion or thinking the wrong thing. What if your friends or relatives were of a different religion? Does that not bother you?

I am a Christian, but I am very interested in learning about different beliefs. Can anyone tell me about these:? Hindus, Muslims, Jews, Buddhists? Also, can anyone tell me about any other belief? You are welcome to bring about ANY. I think that different beliefs help you learn about a person. I would research this, but who better to tell me than a person that believes in that certain culture?

this seems to be one of your favorite scriptures to quote..trying to make God out as unjust...Babylon had destroyed Zion killing God's people..David spoke of this as a prayer to God.it is the vengeance of the Lord..as Babylon had done to Israel....so shall it fall on Babylon...You forget the promise God made to Abraham...those that bless you I will bless...Those that curse you I will curse....
