Christians, Muslim and atheists are always in the front row bashing and insulting each other. But I have ‘almost’ never seen anyone bashing and insulting Judaism and Jews in a certain offensive way.
This is definitely wonderful and admirable.

What’s your observation and why you think if it is so?

new militant atheism growing in the West.

Saying, "Islamo-fascism is evil incarnate...Islamists are very different. We (Christians) will die for what we believe. They will kill for what they believe."

One of the Reverends called Mohammad a "demn possssd pedphl."

Another said, "...a virulent strain of atheism which seeks to destroy our belief system."

Do you agree that these are dire threats to the 'West'?

Why is it that we are the 'odd' ones here, often giving lengthy and provocative answers?

I can't help myself laughing when I read some posts recently on a very simple and straightforward question but the LONGEST was from a Theravadin Buddhist, going from scratch to enlightenment.

Honestly, that was a GOOD post but I wonder if a non-Buddhist would ever comprehend what we're trying to explain to them?

I can't help but being labeled as a long winded person myself. Is it just 'us' or has it got to do with our commentary/Dharma books which influences our ways of intellect after years of nerdy readings?

LOLs...

I'm not gay but live in a gay neighborhood. It is the NICEST safest neighborhood I ever lived in in my life - the people are so sweet and loving and caring - to me the nicest people I ever met are living in the gayborhood.
I was considering becoming Christian again (I used to go to church when I was a little kid) But after reading the attitudes on this board by SOME religious people toward gays, it completely put me off being Christian. I love gay people and have found out they are not choosing to be gay, they just are. This board has taught me that Christians (unlike atheists, buddhists, others) have a bad attitude to gays which has completely put me off becoming a Christian again -I am sure Jesus wouldn't have wanted them to be spoken about the way people on this board do and I think it is very possible the bible got a bit messed up in translation. What happened to Jesus' love for all - did anyone else find this board made them less likely to take up going to church again?

On Sunday at Church I heard about this little girl who has a brain tumor and she's not doing so well. Anyone who reads this please pray for her. Find a way to email this to everyone you know and have them pray too. Thank you.

I mean this country is the most affluent country in the World and slowly but, surely the Christian religion is falling by the wayside more and more. Do we need to be poor to appreciate God more?

If we are saved and following Christ's example, I think we should be using our online time to witness or get closer to God. We know that there are millions of people who will persecute us and laugh at our beliefs. I call all of my Christian brothers and sisters to stop all the debating. Let God work on your heart. We dont have to go online and defend our faith, our God will fight all of our battles. Get out of the house, off the internet and focus on your calling.

And for those who are gonna say "He wasn't" then you haven't read your bible. Bear with me and I'll be posting some scripture for ya....

I asked the question earlier...and the few fundamentalists that attempted to answer the question, did not give a direct answer...

I seriously want to know from a fundamentalists perspective...would it be better for a child to be aborted...or would it be better for that child to be raised by a gay couple?

Direct answers please.

In responding to a question worded: "What the hell is midge talking about ---" I (along with others, 7 mins & 11 mins prior to mine) challenged the professed Christian about his use of profanity and personal insult.

I received back a rude, highly impertinent, personal email informing me that I am a hypocrite, and "lead children and their parents to Hell."

In the past 2 weeks, I have given of my time, to answer some queries because I believed them to be sincere. My question now is: Is this a serious forum; or is have I misunderstood, and entered a clique whose only interest is to insult and ridicule others?

When someone asks "What the hell is midge taking about? Is she insane?" ... I am at a loss to see the maturity, much less any christianity, in such a question. Would someone tell me, please: Is this a serious Question and Answer Forum; or have I been wasting my time in endeavouring to help others, by intruding into a private social group?
My apologies, if the latter.

I've seen a couple of people that have a Dr. connected to their name on here, and I'm wondering why because Faith is a personal gift from God and one can not have a doctorate degree that is recognized by every faith as far as theology goes so why do they put it in here? Pride?

religious/philosophical/scientific question.
id like opinions on the following link - its a link to the ol' double slit experiment for the scientists out there.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DfPeprQ7oGc

im not a physicist but this experiment/ link at first apperance seems to suggest an intelligence permeating the entire universe.
why this is in the religion section - well when electrons start to behave differently simply from being observed by intelligent beings some questions do have to be asked. such as can this level of organisation really be random.
some will say god of the gaps etc etc, fair enough i hear you but you surely see why this IS way weird and conceivably COULD have philosophical implications. anyhooo i hope some others find my question interesting and the link amazing, if you are highly scientifically educated please try to keep it short and simple for the rest of us.

I say divine to include however anyone here would define it as I know there are so many "definitions". However you view god/goddess/the divine/etc. describe it in one word.
