Evolution is nothing more than the changing ratios of alleles in a population.

An allele can come into existence, making its ratio greater than 0. If it becomes a defining trait of a species, its ratio is 1. If it is variant, it will range between 0 and 1. If an allele is lost (last carrier dies without breeding), its ratio becomes 0.
