Hosea 9:11-16 “Ephraim shall bring forth his children to the murderer. Give them, 0 Lord: what wilt thou give? Give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts. . .Ephraim is smitten, their root is dried up, they shall bear no fruit: yea though they bring forth, yet will I slay even the beloved fruit of their womb.” Is not terminating a pregnancy unnaturally “abortion”?

Numbers 31:17 (Moses) “Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every women that hath known man by lying with him.” In other words: women that might be pregnant, which clearly is abortion for the fetus.

Hosea 13:16 God promises to dash to pieces the infants of Samaria and the “their women with child shall be ripped up”. Once again this god kills the unborn, including their pregnant mothers.

2 Kings 15:16 God allows the pregnant women of Tappuah (aka Tiphsah) to be “ripped open”.

Booky - your quote has nothing to do with the topic....it's too general to apply to this situation.

God corrects his children by killing them or "ripping" them open and killing their unborn babies? What a monster!!

The Bible shows that God does NOT consider human life to be precious. He kills OVER 2 million people, including babies, and that isn't counting fetuses or the number of men, women, children, and fetuses killed during the Flood or the Slaughter of the Firstborns, when we are not told how many people he killed.

The Bible clearly shows that God approves of abortion, and in many cases commands it:

The Bible approves of killing pregnant women: Genesis 38:24, Numbers 31:17

The Bible approves of abortion: 2 Kings 15:16

God approves of abortion: Hosea 13:15-16

People are not counted as persons until they are a month old: Numbers 3:15

The Bible contains directions on how to abort any pregnancy caused by adultery: Numbers 5:12-31

The Bible says that being aborted is better than living a bad life: Ecclesiastes 6:3-5, Matthew 26:24

The Bible says that a person becomes a living soul when he BREATHES the BREATH of life into his nostril (fetuses don't breathe): Genesis 2:7

I do not know. The OT is full of child hating/murdering verses. One, and only one, verse can remotely be used for the pro-lifers.. It says that if a guy causes a pregnant woman to miscarry, the husband/father gets to decide the right punishment. I guess the punishment would be a slap on the wrist if the husband didn't think it was his child or he wasn't ready anyway.
I read an answer on here where some guy was told by some religious leader that the verse says if THE CHILD IS KILLED-showing how easily verses can be misinterpreted. I'll have to find the exact verse. Be right back...
Here it is: 'When men strive together, and hurt a woman with child, so that there is a miscarriage, and yet no harm follows, the one who hurt her shall be fined, according as the woman’s husband shall lay upon; and he shall pay as the judges determine. If any harm follows, then you shall give life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth...“--Exodus 21:22-24
OK. 'Judges' decide. Still, according to the husband. But, the punishment is determined by the harm done to the woman. It also says 'so that there is a miscarriage, and yet no harm follows'...Apparantly, it doesn't even consider a miscarriage to be a real 'harm'.

In the Old Testament, where these stories are from, you need to understand that the people who are being "targeted" are enemies of God.

In the old days, your lineage was of primary concern. All wealth and power was given down to biological children, and children were highly prized. A child was the future, and protected at all costs. Families were as large as could be, and women were eager to get pregnant. A woman with few (or no) children was despised. Men had as many wives as they could afford, in order to maximize the number of children.

In these cases you describe, the Jews, God's chosen people, were being attacked by different tribes, in an effort to destroy the Jews.

God was encouraging the Jewish warriors, giving them a "pep talk" of sorts. He was saying they He would even destroy the children of the enemy tribes. If even the children of the enemy tribes were gone, the tribe would cease to exist, thus so would the threat, never to return.

There was also time that one of the 12 tribes of the Jews perpetrated a crime on other Jews. Their punishment was the near-total destruction of the tribe. The few remaining survivors were repentant, and forgiven, but the other 11 tribes had sworn that they would not allow their daughters to marry anyone from the 12th tribe that had 'gone bad'.

God made an arrangement that all of the women of a neighboring enemy tribe be spared from death if they had not ever had relations with any man. These women, spared from the war, were given to the 12th tribe as wives. This honored the covenant of the 11 tribes, but allowed the 12th one to survive.

conflict is incorrect, yet there does come a time while it extremely is mandatory. The Iraq conflict grew to become into no longer mandatory. yet wars like the yank Revolution have been mandatory. attempting to discover pastime is incorrect. I basically trust searching in case you will relatively consume what you kill. Abortion is incorrect. it extremely is homicide. the pro-decision human beings will cry relating to the girl's rights. What relating to the rights of the unborn toddler? So egocentric. i do no longer agree that "cells" are people. they have the skill to create human existence. that's a grey section, and that i'm not sure on that. i'm confident that girls miscarry "cells" greater desirable than one might think of. The introduction of a toddler is by utilizing no ability an basic technique, even from a organic and organic point of view.

The answer to your question is painfully simple. The problem is that you fail to understand the whole story behind those scriptures and since you only give half the story instead of the entire picture behind those events, it makes you out to be a liar, assuming that you have the ability and intelligence to read and understand those stories for yourself instead of just doing the old cut and paste from an atheist website, in which case you would just simply be gullible. This level of sheepishly following what someone else believes without studying for yourself only perpetuates broad scale ignorance, of which you might be guilty.

The truth is that where there is no Love, people suffer. Where there it no Love there are only empty promises and broken dreams which cause great pain and suffering. Where there is no Love a man will get a woman pregnant and then abandon her and in todays society there are the choices of living in total poverty or getting an abortion (being "ripped open" as you put it). Both options come about when men do not love and care about women, all they want is the pleasure of the moment but if there is no Love, there is only death. In ancient times, when a man did not care for his family and abandoned them it was usually a death sentence. Where there is no Love, people die. This is the message of the Prophets. God is Love.

You say God condoned, approved of and even ordered killings but you fail to give the extenuating circumstances. Noah warned his neighbors daily about the coming flood but they only mocked him, the same way that you mock Christians. For years Noah warned them and the more he warned them, the more they mocked him. By the time it began to rain, it was too late and everyone who mocked Noah drowned; men, women, children, cattle, everyone. And now you mock Christians. Do you see a pattern here?

If you do not love and care for yourself, you suffer. If you do not care and love your family, your family suffers. If the suffering continues because you fail to care for them then you are warned that things must change, as the Prophets warned those in Biblical times (the scriptures to which you refer but only in part). The ones who you say were killed by the order of God were the same ones who raped and tortured people to death and when they were warned they defended their brutality by attacking and killing those who warned them. So, because of their brutality and because they were so abusive to everyone in their care, even their women and children died.

When this brutality affected other tribes and peoples there was war and everyone died, all because there was no Love.

God is Love.

Where there is Love, there is healing, safety, purpose, hope, vision and power to overcome difficulties (faith).

Where there is No Love, there is only Death.

Pro-lifers are among the biggest hypocrites and charlatans on the planet. If they were truly "pro-life," they'd be working a lot harder to make THIS life better for the kids who are already here. What I have noticed is when that fetus they "saved" is born, they turn and walk away (especially if that child isn't white), then call Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity to complain about "unwed welfare mothers."
I am reminded of what George Carlin said about pro-lifers:
"Ever notice the people screaming loudest against abortion are the people no one wants to [have sex with] anyway?"
I've also noticed the pro-life movement is predominantly male, rich, and old. Listen guys, since men don't get pregnant, abortion is none of our business. It's between a woman, her conscience, and her doctor. In the unlikely event there are any gods, they will take care of it.
As a nurse, I am no fan of abortion. As a man, it is, again, none of my business. It's none of religion's business either.

You only showed verses showing your point. God does not encourage abortion, and does not promote the murdering of unborn children. If your going to have sex, expect to get pregnant. I think people who use abortion basically as birth control, should be put in prison. ADOPTION NOT ABORTION!

Psalm 82:3-4
Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from yhe hand of the wicked.

Your "cherry-picking." If you don't read scripture in light of scripture, understand context and meaning, you are misreading scripture. I looked at the thirteenth chapter of Hosea, I thought it would be about disobediance, it was and, about idol worship. God is a just God, there has to be consequences to actions or there isn't justice. There is lawlessness. Just as a father corrects his son or daughter, God corrects His children.

It is a basic Humanist principle and a Biblical one. Murder is wrong.

There is one clear answer to this question. Christians are pro-life because Christ is God and Christ is the Life.
