If I were to answer this question saying that gays should not be allowed to raise a child because their lifestyle is not condoned in the Bible, then I should also say that a married couple that's not following Christ with their lives should not be allowed also, or a heterosexual couple that's not married should not raise children, it's ridiculous!
As a Christian I don't believe the Bible makes it our job to be "moral police". I am only to hold those who would call themselves Christ followers accountable to what the Bible teaches. To try and hold someone who does not believe in Christ accountable to the Bible would be counter productive. It results in condemnation without authority instead of grace and acceptance.
To your question then, while I don't wish to "push" my beliefs on others I have a hard time seeing how someone can abort a baby, especially after seeing and hearing a heart beat of my own child just 6 weeks into the pregnancy! Who the adopting parents are does not make much difference to me. The fact that someone wants to adopt shows that at the very least they want to love a child and have a desire to be a parent. That's a great starting point for anyone!
I know many people who are non-christian (Muslim, Jewish, atheist, gay, etc) that are "better people" than some Christians I know. What good are your beliefs if they aren't producing a kind of person others would wish to become?
So I say gay couple for sure. We Christians need to get better at understanding the drastic difference between acceptance and approval. I'm sure that many single mothers could empathize with this question based on their interaction with Christians. As a Christian I apologize for the poor representation of Christ we are at times...

I would rather have a gay couple raise them, it's better to have have a chance to live the life that to get rid of it before it even starts. Besides, this doesn't mean that the home isn't full of love. Just because they have a different view on life doesn't mean that they are horrible people.

This is a great question in that it offers the fundamentalists what could be considered the classic, "Sophie's Choice." No matter how you respond, as a fundamentalist, whatever answer you give will be wrong.
Kill the fetus? Wrong.
Have an innocent baby raised by a gay or lesbian couple? Wrong again.
It's too bad that fundamentalists of all stripes are unable to embrace the beauty of life. Life in all its myriad forms.

People who consider gays ungodly completely put me off ever being religious. I live in a gay neighbourhood, and in the gaybourhood, it is a lot safer and people are very sweet. The men and women there are awesome and I would be delighted to have a gay couple raise my child if something happened to me.
I'd never consider becoming Christian after reading about some of the attitudes towards gays on this board!!!

Better for the child to be raised by a gay couple. I do not agree or believe in homosexuality, but I do believe in a child's right to live.

From my perspective?
Being gay is a choice, not a genetic predispostion.
That being said,
I'd willingly let a gay couple adopt a child before I'd let it be killed for convienience sake.
There's nothing that says that gay people can't raise a normal child. (Take for instance Rosie O'Donell's children. I don't think they are gay, and I don't Rosie would love them any less if they weren't gay.)
Being a Christian, who has gay friends, all I can do is occassionally remind them that God didn't make them that way, then accept them and care for them.
Don't let it bother you.

You see the problem with abortion is that the person who choses to abort the pregnancy is guilty of murder, but the unborn child will go to heaven. In this case, the child gets the better end of the deal.
However, if the child is raised by a homosexual couple, it still has the chance to learn the Truth. The child can still loved the people who raised him, but understand that they should not be practicing homosexuality. In this case, the person who chose not to abort the pregnancy and the child are good to go. I think I'll go with this option.

(assuming you meant fundamentalist christian)
Absolutely it would be better to be raised by a gay couple than to die.
Jesus values life. He gave his own life so that we could have eternal life.
