I think it depends on the poly family. If they are poly because of their religious faith, no, not at all. If they are poly because they enjoy the poly lifestyle, they may have sex with multiple spouses at the same time.

Not all poly households are so because of the religion of the people of the house. Some people simply feel that a polyamorous home is more balanced and happier. Some have poly relationships in the BDSM context.

There is alot of information online -

I'm LDS, and just to set things straight, polygamy hasn't been practiced in our religion for over 100 years. Just so everyone knows. But the way it worked when it was in force was that most men would have a wife, maybe two, that lived with them. The rest were in name only. Sometimes there was sexual relations with each wife, but usually, the first wife was the one that got the sexual favor. Not saying that it didn't happen where they husband would visit all his wives, but usually only one or two wanted to have sex with him.

The other wives usually didn't even live at the same house with their husbands. They were only married to them to keep the land and the house they had.

They wouldn't have sex with him together. That would be tacky and really not fun for them, I would imagine. It could have happened, but I'm pretty sure it didn't.

Just to let you know, anyone who practices polygamy in the church today is excommunicated. The FLDS church is totally separate from us, and doesn't even believe the same things we do. The time for polygamy is over, and unless or until, God wants it back on the earth, it won't be practiced by us!!

Depending on the religion, I doubt it. The most common polygamist's in the US claim the Mormon religion (no I'm not saying most Mormons are polygamists) and they do not, because that would be against religious teachings.

I guess it would depend what rules they live by. In Islam it is not allowed.
