I am in a long term relationship of 17 years, I have the education, finances, time and support structure to raise a child well. Would you allow me to adopt a child?

There are thousands of children waiting to be adopted, yet gay people experience large legal hurdles to adopt.

Would you prefer these unwanted children to be aborted?

Will you step up to the plate and be willing to adopt more?

It is obvious anti-abortionists have no plan in mind to ensure that every fetus is delivered.

They have no plan to ensure every fetus is safe during pregnancy.

They know desperate women will obtain abortions in some very unsafe way (unless they're rich) like throwing themselves down stairs and using coat hangers if no legal means is available.

And anti-abortionists are okay with that.

We know they're okay with that because they are trying to make abortion illegal without having -any- plan to ensure every fetus is delivered.

The real question is: why do anti-abortionists want to make the abortions they know will occur to be as unsafe as possible?

Do they secretly hope these women will die?

I think it is no use to pick on a religion just because you find its followers committing wrong things. Like, if I see a Christian having pork, that doesn't mean Christianity allows it. Similarly, if I see a Muslim killing innocent people, that doesn't mean Islaam is a barbaric religion. In order to find that out, I should refer to the main source of Islaam, namely, the Qur'aan.
What do you think?

to believe in, why believe in the bible at all? Since you know a) most of it is myth and b) it was written by fallible people, why stick to it at all? Doesn't the fact that you have to resort to picking and choosing suggest it's a pretty whacked book and not the "inspired word of god?"

Although my parents are Turkish unfortunately i wasn't brought up as a muslim but i would like to convert to Islam because for me it is the true religion. Does anyone know where i can obtain practical advice on understanding and practising Islam, such as praying? I don't want to go to a mosque and speak to an Imam because i wouldn't know how to approach him, or when and where to go etc., and i don't have any muslim friends that could help.

Also another thing i can't make my mind up on is whether to be a Sunni or a Shia, although i agree more with Sunni practices, such as more emphasis on the Qur'an and Sunnah, historically i can understand why the Shia's were upset and i can't unserstand why Sunni's don't like Ali or feel upset at the death of Hassan and Hussayn, after all they were the Prophets grandchildren? Thanks in advance.

There are a number of questions on here today that attack the pro-life group. The latest seems to suggest that if you are not able to adopt a bunch of children, you have no right to be anti-abortion.

What happened to people .... not getting pregnant?

And if you do, how about taking responsibility for your actions?

If it's okay to kill an unborn child, why not expand that so that you can murder anyone who is inconvenient?

If Planned Parenthood (America's largest abortion provider) will take some of the 900 million dollars in profits they made last year (a ton of money for a non-profit agency,no?) and donate that to pay for the fees associated with adoption for all of the kids awaiting adoption, I will take them all. What do you think? Any other takers?

Did god really mean this?
If so, then I would like to get someone good.

Is that allowed according to god?

Wouldn't that require every pregnant women to register her pregnancy with the government or LE?

And how would you tell the difference between someone falling down stairs, and someone deliberately falling down the stairs?

Would you require weekly blood tests to ensure the mother hasn't taken anything that would injure the fetus?

Should each fetus be appointed a public guardian to ensure that the mother does not 'assault' the fetus?

Come now. If you want to strike down legal abortion in the name of the fetus you must have some effective controls in place to ensure nothing happens to the fetus.

How would you control all the pregnant women in America to ensure none of them abort?

JW's believe that they are the only true religion that has God's holy spirit working with them. That they are the only religion that has God's favor and they are the only ones who will be saved at the end..? correct me if I am wrong.
If this is the case , being what you believe..then doesn't that seem a little judgemental on your part of all others..Shouldn't God have a say in it?

it's kind of funny...the questions that are 'why do atheists post here if they don't believe in god' has spilled out past the category. Interesting. Here is a few:
