Keep in mind that almost all westernized countries accept the fundamental principal of separation of church and state. This is the one true freedom that has allowed the US to rise in power. Where as countries in the middle east generally are seen as Islamic states. Along the same lines Islam does endorse violence to some degree. Rather it can easily be interpreted by many to endorse violence and does in the eyes of many. It's easy to make the connection between Islam and the countries that embrace it. Lastly, you have to look at the structure of the quran and the bible. Although the bible is just as violent and barbaric, the bible has the separation of the testaments. This allows for people of christian faith to see these acts as the "old way" or "before Jesus came along to make things right" The bible tends to cover all bases where as the quraan sort of leaves things out there. My question is why doesn't the islmaic church come out as a whole and condemn these terrorist. The fact of the matter is that a large sector of the Islamic church endorses these cruel acts such as humiliating women, honor killings, and that jihad crap. These countries don't want to seem as pro American. This is why separation of church and state is crucial. When there are flaws in the religion the government has no fear of stepping in and regulating what is in the best interest of the country.

I don't think you can necessarily call that picking on Islam. It just so happens that people want to see news stories about who's killing who, and at the moment, there are radical Islamic groups killing other people, so they are in the spotlight. If there were deranged Christians going on a killing spree in your town, they would be on the news too. Just because there are radical Islamic groups on the news doesn't mean CNN is trying to say all Muslims are violent.

I think the Media in it's entirety, put their own spin on anything they choose to reveal, none of it is factual, and most of it is designed to influence people's thinking in a fashion the Media has decided is desirable. I NEVER WATCH the news.
As for Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, and all the other religions in the world, they are nothing more that tools of man devised to control men, I don't adhere to them either.

It is totally unfair and totally unbalanced. CNN is nothing compared to FOX News. I quite watching those channels long time ago.

As Salaamu Alaikum
First of all, myself, I don't pay any attention to stuff of that nature because, The Prophet (PBUH) had to run and defend our faith as soon as he came forward with it.
Saying this, "Patiently Persevere." Allah states, "Allah blesses those who patiently persevere." Remember, The Believer will eventually win through.
Allah (SWT) stated to the prophet before he brought him back to his origin, "On this day, I perfected your way of life."
knowing this, I don't worry about what they say about Islam. Islam will take care of itself naturally.
Allah also states, "Falsehood by its own nature is bound to parish, and the Truth will knock the BRAINS out of Falsehood."
Our jobs as believers is to convey the message. Allah makes the conscious Muslim.
This is only how I view things. If I've said anything contrary to Allah, I apologize and i take responsibility for that. But, If I've said anything helpful, that was strictly from Allah and Allah alone.

Don't watch CNN. Matter of fact, I don't watch the boob-tube.
But, if true that CNN is picking on Islam, then I don't care.

If Islam's followers weren't blowing themselves and thousands of innocents up a day then there wouldn't be anything to report. Yet, they are and until it stops Islam and it's followers are going to be in a bad light.

Good point. Next time I see a criminal stealing someone's car, I should remember not to pick on criminals but instead focus on the holy text of crime.
