I work with a lot of Mormons and the majority of Mormons today don't believe in polygamy. The ones who do are the old school and the ones who are taking advantage...LOL

I am LDS; but formerly I was FLDS. The corruption of the Lord's church is not so much in polygamy; which from time to time might be acceptible to the Lord. It is in the abuse of young women, little more than children. It is in the power hungry mechanism of an arm of the Mormon faith that no longer holds the priesthood; and characteristically has been overcome by the nature of man, that when he is given a little power abuses it; unless that power is truly from God. The whole polygamy thing does not bother me; personally I chose to be the one and only violin in the orchestra that is my marriage, but if others misguidedly want to be part of the string section I can only pray that they are not there unwillingly. The most of it is the annoyance that I feel when people generalize and think all Mormons live this lifestyle. They do not. LDS are Mormon, but not all Mormons are polygamous.

This going to be sooooo cool. The Salt Lake Church will have to come out and either disavow Joseph Smith and Brigham Youngs 'revelations' once and for all, or support the Fundie LDS in their attempt to make polygamy 'legal' on religous grounds.

I never got my name removed from their records. If the Fundies win and Salt Lake follows suit, I'm back in - Oh yeah!!

It's just part of the dogma. Fundamentals of any stripe dig dogma. It's also a really good way to set yourself apart from the 'World'.

Because it's a religious-sanctioned form of oppressing women and children. When you get a whole town or city or state of Mormons, then it's also government-sanctioned.

If you think about it, the larger the family, the more there are to spread the LDS doctrine.

They must have lost their minds.

Ask my husband....he'll tell you...one wife is enough to handle.
