Faith and Your Future -
“Faith is the assured expectation of things hoped for.”—Hebrews 11:1. Better future cannot come by human efforts. Instead, they look to the Creator, Jehovah God. He knows what the future will be like, and it will be a marvelous one. He also knows that humans cannot bring about such a future. Since God created them, he knows their limitations far better than another human.
At Jeremiah 10:23, we read the words of the inspired prophet: “I well know, OÂ Jehovah, that to earthling man his way does not belong. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step.” Also, Psalm 146:3 states: “Do not put your trust in nobles, nor in the son of earthling man, to whom no salvation belongs.” Thus, Proverbs 28:26 declares: “He that is trusting in his own heart is stupid, but he that is walking in wisdom is the one that will escape.”
15 Where can we find this wisdom? “The fear of Jehovah is the start of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Most Holy One is what understanding is.” (Proverbs 9:10.) Only Jehovah has the wisdom that can guide us through these fearful times. --- Proverbs 2:1-9; 3:1-6; 2Â Timothy 3:16, 17.
What must we do to be part of that happy future? Isaiah 55:6 tells us: “Search for Jehovah, you people, while he may be found. Call to him while he proves to be near.”
The Bible’s promises of renewed health, resurrection from the dead, and so forth, are fortified by the record of miracles performed by Jesus Christ. These are not fables. Read the Gospel accounts and see the evidence that they bear all the marks of historical authenticity. Geographical locations are named; the names of contemporary secular rulers are given; more than one eyewitness account has been preserved. Meditating on this evidence can strengthen your faith in the Bible’s promises.
Quoting Jehovah’s words to Habakkuk, the apostle Paul wrote: “ ‘My righteous one will live by reason of faith,’ and, ‘if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.’ . . . Without faith it is impossible to please [God] well.” (Hebrews 10:38–11:6; Habakkuk 2:4) Paul told Timothy: “Fight the fine fight of the faith, get a firm hold on the everlasting life for which you were called.” (1 Timothy 6:12)
Go to the Kingdom Halls of Jehovah’s Witnesses and to their general conventions, and you can then see for yourself evidence that application of Bible counsel transforms lives, that it can make people honest and morally upright, that it can enable people of all races and nationalities to live and work together in a spirit of genuine brotherhood. A study of God’s Word not only gives us a sound basis for faith in him and in his promises but it also weans us away from putting faith in feeble, imperfect man. As the psalmist counsels: “Do not put your trust in nobles, nor in the son of earthling man, to whom no salvation belongs.” Why not? Because “his spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground, in that day his thoughts do perish.” Likewise it is folly to put faith in material goods. Not only do riches ‘make wings for themselves and fly away like an eagle,’ but in the day of God’s fury, so near at hand, such “valuable things will be of no benefit.” However, those who put their faith in God and in his Son-King, Jesus Christ, “will by no means come to disappointment.
Our faith in God’s promises gives us a wonderful view into the future of God’s new order, which will remain forever. As Rev. 21:4 say: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away."

Hope! There are hundreds of promises in the bible for those who trust God and believe in His son. It has been my experience that God never says anything idly; He never promises anything that He doesn't come through. So I abound in hope, not only for tomorrow, but especially for eternity. Thanks to the word of God, and studying it for many years, I have an eternal view of all things and know that God works all things for good.
