A better example would be...you are my mom, and your daughter and grandchildren are in hell.
Which is it?
- God makes heaven in such a way that you don't remember me and the grandkids. Therefore you don't wonder where we are and are blissfully ignorant of our eternal torment. He indulges in a little godly brainwashing to keep you from knowing the truth.
or
- God lets you keep your earthly memories and you know the truth of our torment. But God creates heaven in such a way that somehow knowing your loved one is in torment doesn't impact your happy mood. Kind of like knowing 9/11 is happening every morning when you wake up, and your family is in the Twin Towers, but you're not bothered by it.
Is there a third option I've missed other than the "Get Out of Jail Free" card where you say "God works in mysterious ways"?

TTC - oh sure! The mysterious Third Thing! Well what is it? You can tell us but then you'd have to kill us?

Yes, the 3rd option and "Truth" is that anyone not in Heaven will be destroyed in the lake of fire, both body and soul and will no longer exist.
Just like now when someone you love dies you seem to forget about them, if not totally (meaning they just don't pop into your mind) then mostly and you go on with your life (again forgetting about them).
It will be the same way our life will go on and we will be to busy to think much about them not being with us, but we know they no longer exist, and they are not in any pain for they are no more.

Study with the Jehovah's Witnesses and you will learn the truth about what the bible teaches about heaven and hell. Hell is not a place of torment. Any reference to eternal fire and eternal punishment is figurative, meaning that those who are so wicked that they do not deserve eternal life will be just gone forever. Not tormented, not burnt, just non existent. And it is GOD who decides who will be in this state of nothingness forever not any person. As for heaven the bible teaches that only 144,000 will go to heaven. Anyone else who God decides is worthy of living forever will be able to enjoy eternal life on this earth. After the battle of Armageddon the earth will be cleansed and we will gradually get life back the way He intended it for us, the way he made the garden of Eden.

I know you're just kidding around and I'll get many thumbs down for this but I don't care :-)
Unless you become conscious of heaven while on earth then you will not be conscious after you die. It will be as if you're in a dream and the next thing you know you'll be in another life, in a new body, only you won't remember this one. Hell is a state of mind where you are tormented by your own thoughts and feelings.

The bible tells us when we are in heaven, the "former things" will not be remembered, meaning, this life on earth.
Each of us chooses to accept, or reject Jesus Christ. Even if a close family member or friend didn't believe in Jesus, I would respect their choice on the matter. And yes, I know that means when they die, they would go to hell, and I would never see them again.
We will not be thinking of things in heaven, the way we do on this earth. It will be the beginning of a new life; eternity with God. There will never again be sorrow or tears.

I like how Fireball went Capital City on this question. That made me lmao.
Apparently you go through a brain washing system and you only remember the good things. Kind of like Eternal Sunshine on the Spotless Mind eh?

I've often thought about this. The general sense I get from the bible is that in heaven people have their humanity removed.
The other possibility I came up with that does not require dehumanisation is that heaven would be a bubble where time stops and nothing happens.

I don't know. I want my friends and family to be in Heaven with me. They know what I believe, and some have become Christians. I pray for them. I will continue to do these things until I am in Heaven. The Bible does say that God will wipe away our tears, so maybe we will know. I just can't say for certain.

I think it's like after a storm blows by, and the sun comes out. This world will be a dim memory, and fits category two. The storm has passed, for some. And we ask;

We will remember our loved ones but we will be unable to be sad, since there will be no tears in heaven. We also will have a new body which i think means soul so we will be filled with the love of God and will be in the presence of Jesus and nothing else will matter anymore

Its going to seem like a lifetime ago!
Its going to be more of case that we do have all knowledge of what happened to everybody but its not going to bother us. It doesnt bother me much I know because people make their own choices, I cant make the right ones for them.
Youre also assuming that our earthly family is the most important thing to us. While it may be to unbelievers, it isnt for believers. Youll note in the NT, our new family is the church, believers, not our blood family.
