I want to know what you think the actual "God" is? Most of the so called "religious" crap/BS stuff I hear and read is so mixed up and twisted. I feel that there is "something" BIG to all this. Can some intelligent person "enlighten us"?

There are some really great/incredible replies so far. I can see that you people are thinkers and not necessarily followers. That's a good thing.

There was nothing. Lets say zero 0. Billions of years passed. Some "differences" arise in 0. This caused zero to part in to -1 and +1. This process continued and now we have what we call the universe. We see an infinite universe because it lie divided in to -ve Infinity and +ve infinity. If you sum up it all, that is all energy, mass, space, time etc in the universe, the sum is 0 or nothing.

Now you have an answer to the materialistic world. May be you can assume it is "God" who initiated the "differences" in the "nothing" to produce -ve and +ve infinities.

Now about the concept of God we have. Every species in this world posses a collective wisdom in them. This is the product of evolution and the efforts of the ancestors of the species. This make it possible for a plain guy like me and my wife produce a wonderful working thing called a human baby. If we were to try with all out abilities and with all resources and money in the world at our hand, we could not have made a robot one millionth smart and working as our own son.

What is the medium through which the species pass on this wisdom and "evolve" or make it better? Genetic codes and incredibly these molecules can affect my primary and secondary cravings and wish and thinking. The subtle changes made during millions of years of evolution, imprinted in my genes, cause me to look for a women with good boobs and healthy body, have sex with her, find joy in bringing up my son and so on.

Hence one can assume the presence of a “soul” or something that I possess apart from my own gathered wisdom and mind. When I die, my body and mind is no more, but what happen to this “soul” part? In an artistic sense, one can say it gets dissolved in the collective “SOUL” of the species. Millions of years after, when somebody look at the collective evolution of human brain, my “soul” part and whatever genetic modifications I as a member of the species contributed to the species’ collective “SOUL” will be as relevant as anybody else’s.

If the collective wisdom of the species somehow managed to implant a concept of “God” and the fear of “God” in the “SOUL” of the species, it EXISTS as a real and powerful force in every member of the species. This may be the reason every human being think about "God" or His presence in various ways. Now that may be the “God” you are talking about.

The Beginning and the End, Omnipotent , Omnipresent, soon coming King, Alpha, Omega, Lord of everything, Healer, Deliverer, Righteous, Best Friend, Master, Savior~He is and always will be, from ancient times past till forever and ever.

To sum it all up- GOD in human form was the man Jesus Christ..100%man and 100%God Almighty.

He came to this earth to pay for everyone's sins on the cross so that we could have eternal life in heaven with Him...what an awesome God. And no matter who you are, no matter what your skin color, no matter what your past, no matter what your religion, He will meet you right where you are in life and love you IF you just let Him. It's up to each and every person to make the decision to surrender your life to Him....He is the True living GOD....He might have died on the cross, but He is the only one in history of mankind to ever raise Himself from the grave....there is no other man-made god that has ever been, that was able to raise from the dead before.

I believe there is a Creator. A being, entity whatever that is the origin of everything. However, I do not think that the God described in the Bible is the Creator. The God of the Bible is too limited to be the Creator.

I do belive that the God of the Bible does exist. I just think he is a higher form of life than we are. But he is still much lower on the food chain than the Creator.

I think Natural Selection (evolution) explains a lot but not everything. I think someone "created" us by taking a species already here and genetically altering it to create man. That someone seems to be the Biblical God.

I don't believe that the Bible is false but I think it was information being given to very ignorant simple people. So it was told to them in a context they could understand.

Not what you expected, huh?

I think the true magnitude of what a supreme deity truly is cannot be described or understood by humanity. This is why we create gods in our own image (the christian god is vengeful, jealous, a god of love and so on, Zeus was a womanizer....) to better understand what many of us know exists but cannot adequately explain. As for a description, no human has come close.

I'm a Christian, and God is so much bigger than most people can imagine, his power is so great that he created a universe that has the ability to sustain itself, and has existed for billions of years...he is so almighty, powerful, that their is no words to describe him or how he created everything we know of and everything that we will never know of, this universe is bigger than our small minds can comprehend.Scientist keep building bigger and better equipment and or able to go further and see more than we have ever thought of, and they say there's so much more.......and there is....but as to how big , we will never know til we come face to face with the creator.

God Almighty is a first cause. He has always been in existance and it is so difficult for our minds to even conceive.
Then even though he was complete in himself he decides to make another spirit person like himself. Someone had to be first? Jesus colossians 1:15 Tells how he was a creation.
Then they were in heaven for billions, trillions, eaons. Then they decided to make other spirit persons. Called angels
Job 38:7Calls them all son's of God.
Then many more eaons pass and no telling what all they have created in the heavens. But one thing we do know that the first women was created on this planet.
Then they decided to make material things.
The big bang! billions of years later found a perfect planet and got it ready. There was no day and night as we know it so no telling how long it took for God to do this.
But I do know this that the angels in heaven looked down and saw the daughters of men and that they were good looking and went taking wives for themselves. Genesis 6
So this must have been the first time that ever happened so women corrupted men and angels. But they have certainly paid the price for that.
One day when the problems down here is solved and it did clean out the heavens to.
People will go from here to other planets.
Billions will be able to enjoy endless life.
Thanks to a grand creator. Psalms 37:9,10,11 says that the wicked will be destroyed and the righteous will live forever upon the earth.

There are as many different conceptions of god as there are people, but the term generally refers to some sort of supernatural entity which runs the universe (or devised the scheme by which it runs) and has some interest in human affairs, with the possibility of tinkering in such affairs if suitably placated. There is no evidence to support a notion that such an entity actually exists.

G-d is the creator of all in existence. Those who have chosen to worship Jesus or their own whims have worshipped false gods. God sleeps not nor does he nod. He is beyond any image or form, he begets not nor is he begotten, none grasps him in vision but his vision grasps all. He dies not, nor is there any imperfection attributed to G-d. G-d is not creation or the sum of all matter as some say. Rather he is the creator of all matter. He was before all matter and always has been. God is not all of us combined. G-d knows everything there is to know all in one instance. He is not confined to time or space.

Here is my humble opinion. It's up to you to decide whether or not my answer is intelligent and enlightening.

Human beings have this difficult thing known as consciousness. This consciousness business makes us aware of our mortality and the seemingly unlimited life force which moves us, as well as every living thing on our planet. Trying to get our minds around this dual/conflicting aspect to our lives - our eventual death and the cycle of life that we witness every 365 days - makes us wonder two basic things.

1) Given that we see death, rebirth, growth and harvest repeated each and every year, we wonder if we might not be a part of that cycle. Will we live our allotted time, die and then be reborn in similar fashion to what we witness with the seasons?

2) Given that we have this testy thing known as consciousness, is there some greater meaning to our existence?

Enter religion. Enter mythology. The human attempt to explain the meaning of life, the origins of life, and the ultimate intelligence that moves the entire universe. Problem is...

We are not capable at this stage of our development to gain a full, meaningful understanding of this intelligence, if the intelligence itself exists. Yes, we can get the occasional glimpse of it. If we are given the privilege of witnessing the awe inspiring moment of birth or happen to be with a loved one when they take their last breath - and we are open to the fundamental energy of both, we can get a brief glimpse of that "thing." Be it god, be it simple, pure energy, in that moment, we gain perhaps 0.001% understanding of the force which moves the whole shebang.

So yes. There is something BIG out there and equally, there is something BIG in here. A small piece of that unlimited energy that moves the universe, also moves you. It is the thing that connects us all and unfortunately, due to the divisive, chauvinistic nature of religion, it is also the thing that divides us.

Everyone wants to say, "Eureka!" They want to be the one to share the ultimate meaning with you and everyone else on the planet. Unfortunately, that "Eureka" moment is highly personal and may not be understood by all. Nor may it be agreed to by all. But the person shouting, "Eureka," is so sure. So certain that what they now know is both the key and the answer. What they don't get is that it is the key and the answer for them and them alone. "How" each person experiences their connectedness, which ultimately is the underlying meaning of all religion, is as individual as "how" a person experiences the taste of ice cream, or the pain and sorrow of a loved ones loss. We can sympathize but we can never truly empathize because we are not experiencing life inside the other person's skin.

All we really have, all we can really give the "other" is respect. They, like us, are trying to spiritually grow. Trying to move ever closer to that "thing" whatever it might ultimately be. So when someone says, "I have the answer," listen. If it does not ring true for you, if you do not feel it in the core of your existence, that part of you, that piece of the life force that moves you, then smile, say "thank you," show them some respect, and move on.

You are on your own path. We are on our own paths. Hopefully, along the way, we will meet some like minds but that is all we will meet. We will never be able to fully experience what the like mind experiences any more than the like mind will be able to experience what you are experiencing. It is the way of it. We are connected yet separate. Our birth is personal as is our last breath. The only thing that connects us is that energy.

What might be of some help to you is doing a little reading on the subject of Quantum Physics. Personally, that has brought me nothing but glee ridden, child-like delight. I find it fascinating and joy inducing that this scientific field of study is wrangling with the very nature of our universe and what is described as "the field of all possibility." That "field" that creative energy, is perhaps the closest thing we will ever have to experiencing the true nature of god. Or the goddess. Or just that simple, pure energy and ultimate intelligence. Even then, due to our present stage of development, that understanding will only be 0.001%. But ohhhhh - what a beautiful and awe inspiring 0.001%! So...

Go about your life with joy. Be open. Be watchful. Do so, and with each day that passes, you will receive more and more moments of that 0.001%.
