Most of you who frequent R&S know that my answers are usually harmless wisecracks, or genuine answers aimed at answering someone's question--or occasionally refuting some clown's hate-spewing drivel (in other words, my answers are more or less in keeping with most other intelligent R&S-addicts' answering habits).

That said--has anyone else every received emails like these from someone like this? My guess is, this guy is probably ten or eleven and is sneaking onto his mommy's computer to try and pick childish fights with actual adults. Read on, and tell me what you think:

And what "argument" are you referring to? Oh, the one you made up in your delusional mind.

But so you know whining God-hater, you are not my God, and I do not obey your petty sinful desires:

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. - 2 Corinthians 10:5

Stop sitting in judgment against God. "

Oh, and for future reference: I respond well to legitimate questions and comments, like any mature adult. However, if I receive delightful emails like these, I reserve the right to show them to everyone else--it's not like this guy's questions or answers to others are much different anyway. Resorting to childish name-calling isn't gonna win you too many sympathizers, sparky.

I meant "received" in the primary question, of course. That's what happens when you type too fast! :->

My actual email is kept private, but I keep the "email user" function on my profile available because I fully respect legitimate emails or comments folks have for me--in all honestly, these are the first hate-mails I've gotten. All the same, I find it refreshingly funny--they gave me a much-needed laugh! I don't think I'll turn off my "email user" option just yet... but if I get more gems like these, I promise I'll post 'em again for everyone to enjoy... hey, sharin' laffs is the least I can do, right? LOL

Hello

These sorts of emails or answers just show that the authors have little training in rehtoric, the fundementals of logic and critical thinking.

When you say all Lilliputans are lazy; I saw 10 at the welfare office, that is a hasty generalization fallacy. When you say, your an idiot, moron, don't know what you are talking about, that is the fallacy ad hominem where you are attacking the person instead of the subject. This fallacy renders the argument invalid. Sadly "some" people from the Marxist - Leninists to special interest groups as well as the lawyers in court thrive on this fallacy which unfortunately works well eoungh to call people's attention away from the subject of the argument... especially when they are losing.

It is too bad that they do not have a panel of judges on these sights who are trained in debate and rehetoric that could decided on who argues the best and most logically. Anyway those who resort to personal attack and name calling are in that position where one can say, talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

Regards,

Michael Kelly

That sounds like any of my typical hate mail. I like to think that I've said something worth saying if it riles someone up so much they have to send me a blender full of alphabet soup.

I've had conversion attempts (an average of five a week). I've had threats of bodilly harm to myself and my family (three so far). I've recieved notices that simply spewed random insults (too many to count... and one noteworthy letter in which the author mispelled the word "stupid"). The funny thing is that at least 90% of them I can positively identify as coming from Christians. Apparently it does wonders for a person when they worship a God of love.

1. Your account is new and it's level 1 2. Your email is disabled 3. You smell like B-U-L-L-S-H-I-T I don't know if this is real or not and it's definitely becoming less believable with every question, but I talked to Jumping Trains and she was actually really nice. Megan's story was always consistent when she was talking to me and she helped me through a lot of problems. If this is all a huge joke, your sick. ~ Caty

I got a couple like that then I turned the email off. You must of touched a nerve with this idiot. It sounds like this person is a bored teenager. Dont even open the emails, they arent worth getting upset about. As long as you arent insulting, I think you are free to type what you like.

Yes I have got plenty of them.An Atheist went so far as to say that she had plains to kill me put on her blog after I had blocked her emails. She made out that it was because I had said something about her spelling. What she failed to mention was all the hateful emails she had sent me. I am a Christian and I am so sorry that you were done this away by someone trying to come across as a "christian" please don't blame the Lord for this persons behavior.

Yes, I have from that same user. He really is mentally very sick. I wouldn't take it personally at all. You did nothing wrong.
Here's one that he sent me. He kept it up, sending me multiple e-mails for a few a days until I blocked him. At first I laughed hard. He would still be funny if he wasn't so pathetic, and sick minded toward children. He is no Christian, not even a little bit.

I don't have the email feature on just so I can avoid getting such silly emails. However, some hate mail seems pretty funny so I might reconsider my decision.

Lol, not from him, not yet anyways.

But yes, I've gotten some pretty amusing hate mail since I've been here. The funniest was the hate mail I got for saying that it was gravity not god that made the Earth orbit the Sun.

I haven't received any hateful emails, but perhaps I am just lucky. You can report them to the Yahoo Answers board if they persist.

I have gotten a few rare ones. Most emails I get are from those who wanted me to clear up my way-out-in-left-field views. And I agree with you on your first paragraph.
