this seems to be one of your favorite scriptures to quote..trying to make God out as unjust...Babylon had destroyed Zion killing God's people..David spoke of this as a prayer to God.it is the vengeance of the Lord..as Babylon had done to Israel....so shall it fall on Babylon...You forget the promise God made to Abraham...those that bless you I will bless...Those that curse you I will curse....

It states a simple fact, when evil comes against God's People, it will also come in the same way to those by who it came.

Those Old Testament believers did not have the full revelation of God's character. so they were still in many ways revenge minded, when people were cruel to them.
In the New Testament, e.g. Romans 12, we are told to bless those who oppress us (because we are all sinners, and they are just blinded by Satan, and remain lost and in a dangerous position as regards their eternal state), not take vengeance. However it says leave room for God to take vengeance. Which means that God as judge can bring justice upon the living as well as the dead. This is because some people can cause so much misery and distress that it is certainly right for God to bring justice upon them. There will be a Last Judgement of course, when everything will be punished; we christians will not be punished because of Christ's sacrifice, but we should certainly forgive all others in this life now as Jesus commanded, as we haven't meritted the free forgiveness we have been given.

commencing returned in vs 8 provides the full understanding. (Psalm 137:8-9) 8 O daughter of Babylon, who're to be despoiled, happy will he be that rewards you with your man or woman scientific care with which you dealt with us. 9 happy will he be that grabs ahold and does sprint to products your infants against the crag. The words are directed to the Babylonians, who the author of the music stated that they might have a similar scientific care as that they had performed to the Israelites while they destroyed Jerusalem. Verse 9 grew to become into fulfilled by utilizing Medo-Persia captured and further the Babylonian empire to an end. This grew to become into promised via Isaiah at financial ruin 13:9-22.

Gee, what a nice God to curse innocent children.
Must be the same one that kills of of Egypt's first born, rather than killing Pharaoh who is causing the problem. (Exodus 12:29)
Or the one that decrees that children should be stoned to death for cussing at their parents (Exodus 21:17)
Or stoning someone to death for picking up sticks (Numbers 15:35)
Or killing all the Midianites' children (except the virgin girls - I wonder what was in fate for them?) (Numbers 31:9 - 18)
One of the reason why I do not believe in any of the versions of the Abrahamic god is that I have better morals than he does.
Punish those who are guilty. Do not punish their children.

Parents are held accountable for their children. When God brought a flood to end all wickedness, parents and their children lost their lives. If the parents had listened to the warnings given years in advance, they would have saved not only their own lives, but the lives of their children.
Parents must teach their children God's commandments and study his Word with them for it will serve as a protection.
"These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up."

Jesus said, For the law was given by Moses, note Jesus did not say God the Father, who art in heaven, but by Moses.
Jesus than goes on to say, But grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
If Moses gave the laws, but Grace and Truth came by Jesus, does not this mean Moses gave us things that were not true ?
Jesus cleared this up, when he said "Moses gave you not that bread (words) from heaven, but my Father, who is in heaven, giveth you the TRUE Bread from heaven.
Jesus speaks directly against things that Moses taught, and the story of Lazarus and the rich man supports the spoken words of Jesus. Jesus said to the rich man who found himself on the wrong side of the "Gulf" let them hear Moses and the prophets.
What did Jesus mean by let them hear Moses and the prophets. Jesus cleared this up also, when he said, "All that were before me were thieves and robbers" and "O' fools and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken" and finally " he expounded all things in the book of Moses, Psalms and in the Prophets CONCERNING HIM, (only)
Jesus told you. but will the traditions of men prevent you from hearing the truth.

Dashing our little toes against a stone? Psalm 91 says "In their hands (angels) they shall bear you up,Lest you dash your foot against a stone." All other reference in the Bible about dashing against stone, quote this verse from Psalm 91:12.
Maybe (yep) some scriptures are being misquoted on this system.
