If god is all powerful and all knowing that would mean he lets horrible things happen. He has the power to stop them and doesn't. So he either can't stop them which means he is not omnipotent or he doesn't care. which is it?

1.Do you realize that even if evolution was proved absolutely false tomorrow, the atheists would still be atheists? evolution is not our religion!

2.Do you realize that this would not provide anymore evidence for your god?

3. Do you realize that people can believe in god without becoming totally ignorant to the scientific world?

4. If you do realize these things, then what do you have to gain from arguing about evolution on the R&S board? i bet you would get better answers in the biology section anyway...

For instance, perhaps I should follow Islam JUST IN CASE it's the true religion.

Or maybe I should become a Hindu JUST IN CASE they are the ones who have it right.

Better yet, maybe I should be an atheist because maybe, just maybe, there is a supreme intelligence out there somewhere that doesn't want us to believe in it, but get by on the rational thinking skills that it gave us.

Or perhaps I should follow Zeus, Athena, Apollo, and all those other Olympian guys just in case they are sitting out there somewhere, royally pissed off over the fact that virtually no one believes in them anymore.

Or maybe I should convert to Buddhism just in case that's the correct path.

The list goes on.

When they try to recruit new members, they are always careful to be vague and not to reveal their true beliefs such as Jesus being an archangel and even using God instead of Jehovah. If they were really standing up for what is right, what then would they have to be ashamed of.

Exod. 24:9,10; Amos 9:1; Gen. 26:2; and John 14:9
God CAN be seen:
"And I will take away my hand, and thou shalt see my backparts." (Ex. 33:23)
"And the Lord spake to Moses face to face, as a man speaketh to his friend." (Ex. 33:11)
"For I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved." (Gen. 32:30)

God CANNOT be seen:
"No man hath seen God at any time." (John 1:18)
"And he said, Thou canst not see my face; for there shall no man see me and live." (Ex. 33:20)
"Whom no man hath seen nor can see." (1 Tim. 6:16)

Lets say I worship the Sun God, and I take a pile of kindling and wood, and the symbol of my religion (A giant magnifying glass, the Sun helps me to see, the magnifying glass helps me to see better) And pray while pointing the symbol at the pile of wood and kindling.

At the same time you choose the god or goddess of your choice and the symbol of your choice and point it at an identical pile.

Who's god will set their pile on fire first?

Even if your memory "lives on" in your offspring, they eventually die and are anihilated too. And why should anyone care about their genes being propagated for the species? What difference does it make? If there is no God, then we're here for a while, we do some stuff (whether it's "good" or "bad" is inconsequential), then we cease to exist. The end. Sounds depressing to me.
