That is not the way to get people to join your Religion. It's just like the atheists saying, "wake up Christians how can you not believe in evolution??" You are not going to change people that way, you are just looking for arguments with this question.

Some people dont believe in the bible because they beleive in something else... Its not wrong and there not going to hell for it.. some people need time to discover who they are.. My grandfather is Pakistanian and my grandmother is puerto rican.. one is muslim the other is catholic..... one believes in the quran and the other the bible... but when it comes down to it they both believe in GOD... thats the most important thing...Me.. well I am nothing in particular I take in all religions... I read the bible I read the Quran I have been to 5 different churches..... People can believe in what they want just as long as they leave a life full of morals, love and respect for everyone and know that there is at least a GOD that is what counts..........

Which Bible? There's several different versions. Each version also sometimes changes meaning in translation. What about the books that have been removed or added over time? And those never included? How can someone expect people to believe literally in it when it's been written and edited by men who can't even agree on how to put it together?

not an atheist, am catholic, but still think alot of the bible is hearsay. you really believe that stuff about parting oceans, burning bushes! why is there no metion of dinosaurs? i'm sure the apostles would have noticed the odd brontosaurus roaming about! dont be scared to question things. believing everything makes like a microchip - something that can be programmed. if god did not want us to question things, why did he give us that ability (then again that doesnt explain all the marijuana plants - although some say that is god testing us if only all tests were so pleasureable!) Open your mind!

The bible was not handed down in it's present form from some deity, the material was combed over and some was included and some excluded by early leaders of the roman catholic church & the emporer constantine.

It is an entirely human work with human bias intact and to be taken with a grain of salt if at all.

The Bible is a great book, and it has stood the test of time because God holds it together. The Bible may have been written by men, but they just wrote down Gods word. They were inspired by God and committed to Him with their whole hearts.

Reading it was a pretty big blow against believing it You see, I feel a man needs to base what he believes in mostly on what he precives as real. There is no evidence of the supernatural being real. None, really, zero. So, that would be the whole how and why of it for me.

Don't be silly... the bible is filled with a great deal of nonsense, too.

Listen... your favorite book is a wonderful collection of stories and the main characters have the best of intentions - almost all of the the points of lessons are worth learning; yet, believing literally that there is a divine god and that Jesus was the son of god is nothing but a fools game. There is no heaven and no reward after death, there is no every lasting trip to live eternally as a spirit. You are simply incorrect to believe that there is.... you deceive yourself.

Well, at least you spelled "atheist" correctly.

I hate to answer a question with a question - but how can someone believe in the Bible? It's full of barbaric savagery. You "Christians" need to crap or get off the pot. It's been 2,000 years and the world still hasn't ended as advertised.

I'm not an Atheist but... The bible was written by man. Man has ego. Man writes rules to try and control the masses.

That's why I do not believe the bible to be anything more than stories.
