I know it's a sin to steal but if I take something without asking but pay it back eventually do you think God would see that as borrowing. Borrowing is hen you take something and give it back but stealing is when you take something and keep it. That's what I think anyway.

Christians are up in arms about the ordination of a celibate, gay bishop and yet are silent when it comes to condemning priests who actively abuse choir boys. It is left to secular society to rile against that one.

So is the celibate gay bishop more evil?

God gifted them with a beauty unlike any other in nature.

So what do most women do with this gift? They either eat everything in a five state region or they butch themselves up to attract other girls.

He doesn't seem to mean that scripture is to be taken literally, because he reinterprets very freely the Jewish scriptures that he's reading as scripture. Moreover, he argues that the Law of Moses, which is the cornerstone of Jewish scripture, has been set aside by the revelation of God's grace in Christ crucified. Paul claims inspiration from the risen Lord for his creative understanding of Jewish scripture, but he also argues his case using all the tools of rhetoric and reason at his disposal.
So if he was so liberal in his interpretation, why do christians take it so literally?

If God existed (which he doesn't), could he create a being more powerful than himself?

If God can do *anything*, then this must fall under the scope of *anything*. And if God cannot do this, then he cannot do *anything*. He is therefore limited.

If it's true, why would you want to worship something when there's even a possibility of something being greater?

If God was purging the Earth, he killed all the protists too. Yet they're still here today. I seriously doubt Noah went around with his petri dishes, "Okay, here's a euglena, there's an amoeba, here are some paramecium..." People have found fossils of protists dating millions, even billions of years back. People in Noah's time didn't know bacteria and protists existed; they thought diseases were caused by magic. If God had told Noah to go get the protists, how could he have seen them? The microscope wouldn't be around for quite some time. And while bacteria might've made it through the flood, not all protists would. Euglenas and paramecia are found in freshwater; the saltwater of the sea would harm them. Admittedly, there are some parasitic species which conceivably could've hitched a ride on the animals on Noah's Ark, but not all protists are parasitic. Slime molds live on land, and would've drowned during the flood. And then how would Noah have kept them on the Ark?

I'm not religious, and my boyfriend was when he was younger but now doesn't believe in God. I'm curious to know how religion impacts people. I want to know if you were brought up with it and if you stayed with the same belief throughout life. I want to know, also, if having it or not having it hurt or helped you.

We don't know if we should raise kids with or without religion. We'd like to raise them with it, for morals and such, but we're not sure yet. We both think that morals can be taught in other ways too.

AHAAA Gotcha!

How many times here on R&S we read questions like:"If mankind evolved from monkeys than howcome monkeys are still around?" Many, many people are more than ready to post an angry or sarcastic very often offensive response. Well has it ever occured to you that the person asking the question knows nothing about evolution. For this person that (and other "silly evolution questions") are serious questions, simply because nobody explained it correctly to them before. Have you ever awnsered patiently, explaining and showing the person making the question why it basicly makes no sense or is not an accurate critic (depending on the question)?? Well if we did this would be a good first step into educating people.
Very, very often there are silly (really silly) questions concerning faith, and sometimes i do awnser than as accuratly as i can despite of the asker's willingless to acualy know the awnser instead of just blindly criticising.... well, sometimes...

educated muslims are now asking this from the imams?

why do you expect intelligent young people such as us to believe in outdated superstition?

2 Timothy 3:16 "all scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness"

To which scripture did Paul refer, considering he was writing letters to groups of people and the gospels had not yet been written? These were not deemed scripture until the 4th century by the church.

I'm always surprised by how many pagans think that Lucifer is Satan. It's like they've never picked up a mythology book.

They think that just because the Bible (which should mean nothing to them) says that Lucifer is Satan, they *must*, as pagans, therefore believe it. This always makes me laugh a little.

Even some modern "Wiccans" (usually the young ones) don't realise that Lucifer is a god in their religion. They don't realise that a number of the sources Wicca drew upon (i.e. Gospel of the Witches, Leland) had Lucifer as a god of witches.

Why don't people realise that Lucifer was a Roman deity of light and Venus, before Christianity got its hands on him?

So many things in life depend
On what we choose to see.
Do we look for what is good?
Or glance with negativity?
I took a little walk.
I saw so many things.
A simple little bird,
And yet he joyfully sings
I saw a yellow butterfly
Land on a purple star.
I glanced an old man
Helping his wife into the car.
He held her hand with love
In her eyes he was a dear.
She took his hand so trustingly
She had no moment of fear.
I watched some children playing.
A ballgame down the street.
The air was thick and humid.
The honeysuckle smelled so sweet.
Life is full of such moments.
If we take the time to look.
Like the peace of a summer rainstorm
The singing of a brook.
I will no longer worry.
About things not mine to choose.
For if I waste my time fearful.
This beautiful moment I'll lose.

why believe Mohamad and study the bible?
Jesus says if anyone adds to my word they will have plagues=Revelation 22

Jesus says to love your enemies -while the terrorist of the muslims say to kill all those that believe in Jesus.

Jesus spoke as God, Mohammad spoke from the 'angel' that told him to take a 9 year old little girl Aisha when he was 40 years old to bed in marriage along with his other wives. Jesus said one man for one woman-not a little girl in todays faster maturity she would be about 6-7 years old.

The Shiite and Sunni Muslims use the Quran to blow up each others mosques and drag out the spiritual leaders and murder them in the street. Since January 2006 Golden Mosque bombing-all in the name of Allah.

Jesus offers salvation-Repent from your sins and be born again to see the kingdom of heaven.

I prayed as he asked "Jesus I am sorry for my sins, my lies, and help me, come into my heart and be my friend, amen.

Jesus is my best friend-the bible works=truth!!!
