It would be nice, but since we share common ancestors with all life, we wouldn't even be able to swat flies or even wash our hands with out murdering a distant cousin.

IF that were true, and evolution were true, and all we have is this physical life in front of us, then "He who dies with the most toys wins" is true.
So no, we should not treat ANYBODY well at all - we should take everything we could get our hands on - and it's just too bad for whoever loses.
On the other hand, if God created man in His image, then yes, we should be good stewards of all on this planet.

We have common ancestors with every animal on earth. But if people can't get along with their siblings how can we expect them to get along with our 100,000th cousins?

I don't know about you....but I didn't descend from monkeys. I came from God....created in His own image. According to the Bible, we are descended from Adam and Eve.
